• agreed. speaking of making money- one of the bloggers on here has some book out about purity or something and as a result this site has talked about little else for a while. the community section is much better.

• that is a really really good point and i totally agree. BUT i would hope that this would only show in movie theatres before movies that already have a warning for violence- so the viewers would be prepared to see

• for people who are involved in religious communitites this isn't too surprising. (although mainstream feminists/liberals are quick to overlook it) the majority of religious sects/denominations have queer-positive communities. These groups are (and are going to be) a major part of

• the book was worse than the movie mostly for the reason that the movie DID imply that these attitudes and gender ideals in general are a result of socialization. The movie starts and ends with the main character/narrator questioning lessons

• maybe i'm old fashion, but it still makes me very unconfortable when i hear anyone imply that violence or physical harm would be funny or positive. there is enough to make jokes about other than torturing conservatives. not funny.
