I can't believe how much the word 'feminist' still carries a stigma even in supposedly progressive Seattle where I live. Whenever I identify as a feminist (I am male) or speak out against sexism/patriarchy/genderism, depending on the crowd I'm with, (posted to Sexist Comments )
I live in New York City and the word 'feminist' has that same stigma. I also go to a university that is 60% female, and many of the females in my classes think I am 'weird' or 'crazy' or just (posted to Sexist Comments )
