It is radical, but I feel as if there is a growing number of people who would like to see "marriage" be a private institution and civil unions be the norm (gay or straight). But when I say growing--it's still (posted to OK to be Gay if...Married?)
And even if the clothes in Lane Bryant, etc. manage to fit you, there's usually some kind of shame involved in shopping in those stores. Especially for younger women. When I was finishing up high school I was extremely depressed (posted to Out of the mouths of babes...)

I remember on the season of ANTM when the "plus-sized model" (I think her name was Whitney) won and everyone was like, "omg! how awesome that a plus-sized model won!" and I was like, "What?! How is that girl plus-sized?" (posted to Out of the mouths of babes...)
I think this is an important issue. I too get the "when are you getting married" line from all sorts of relatives, and my partner and I just shrug. We're a heterosexual couple, we been together for 8 years and (posted to OK to be Gay if...Married?)
I find that bras are the single most difficult thing to buy as a fuller figured lady. I have F cup breasts and finding non granny styled bras is almost impossible, not to mention the fact they cost more to (posted to Out of the mouths of babes...)

See I totally sympathize with the shopping for clothes things, but from the other side of the fence. I fortunately or unfortunately can only shop in places like D.E.B ( a specialty store for smaller women, ie 00- maybe (posted to Out of the mouths of babes...)
