This is actually an argument that some conservatives use--the idea that the wage gap only exists because women take maternity leave and/or work part-time while the kids are growing up. It's actually completely false. There have been studies done in (posted to The wage gap is non existant? )

I loved the book "Grassroots" by Jennifer Baumgardner and Amy Richards - it's an easy read and it's all about activism! And the same authors wrote "Manifesta" which is such a good book to read about Third Wave feminism. You (posted to Becoming an activist)
