I have to say that Jessica Valenti and my brother were the first two people I started following on twitter. I was not entirely sure of the etiquette and thought that I might appear a bit stalker-ish if I followed (posted to Tweeting feminism)
This has been a very intense discussion so far and while it has been enlightening, it has caused me to reflect a bit on my own thoughts on this issue. I think there is a distinct difference in the types (posted to Reflecting on Gentrification )
Here's a thought-- I am sensing a couple of different issues in this thread. One is a question Feministing's role as a resource and "starting point" for young feminists, and another is the issue of transphobia and the impact that (posted to Joining the Trans Boycott)

I am excited for you about this trip as well, Miriam. I agree that public school education should include something on basic agricultural practices. My partner and I live in Brooklyn and we have a container garden on our fire (posted to New Leaf Organic Farm)
You do have allies here at Feministing, but those few voices are obviously (painfully, disturbingly, sickeningly) not enough. I hope that there comes a time soon where you feel safe and welcome enough to return. I will personally endeavour to (posted to Joining the Trans Boycott)
