• I'm glad that, for whatever reason, I don't have to deal with this a lot. But I'd agree with the sentiment that the boyfriend thing doesn't necessarily mean he views you as property. Certainly, to some awful guys, it does. (posted to "I'm spoken for.")
• This is kind of a shot in the dark, but I distantly recall reading that some Islamic law traditions forbid women to wear adornments that make distinctive noises--traditionally, bracelets and anklets with bells or jingling charms. The only time this (posted to Target Women: Chick Flicks!)
