First woman ever broadcasts a World Series game

It's about time.
Whether you're at the parade in New York today yet again celebrating the Yankees World Series win or cursing their existence, there's one thing I think we can all be happy about - Yankees broadcaster Susyn Waldman made history last Wednesday by becoming the first woman in history to broadcast a World Series Game.
h/t to reader Cathy.

Anybody would be better than Joe Buck. Man that guy sucks.
Ever since realizing after a thread a few months ago about how few voices for movie trailers are female (and hearing none since then), I've kept my ears open for female narrators and announcers. This is a good thing. Even better that many have learned to respect her.
I never really thought about it, but I'm not exactly Johnny Sportsman. I guess I just assumed that there were women doing World Series broadcasting.
I mean, Luna Lovegood was broadcasting Quidditch years ago, and it was awesome.
FYI, it's "Suzyn."
I actually can't stand her announcing, but she's all we've got, at least until I get my dream job of doing play-by-play for the St. Louis Cardinals. :)
"she's all we've got"
I don't pay attention to sports at all, and certainly not to the popular team sports like baseball, basketball or football. I was under the impression from her story that Waldman was one of the best known and respected of the rare female announcers, and it took her two decades to get where she is. My default mode was she was good and people accepted her as good. That's not good to hear.
