HAHAHA!

Good idea, bad reality.
And especially this thing
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q0gG4ED__MM
It is a video of two british reporters about racism.
I do not know why exactly but for me these two videos are tightly connected.

Funny how the guy posts about them pushing political agendas...

I'm offended by this. I wonder if this mindless Republican-bashing would get the same LOL HILARIOUS reaction if it was Democrat bashing.

It's okay to make fun of the other side by cherry picking, right? Since you don't agree with them

/eyeroll

[0+] Author Profile Page darktruth replied to Brittany :

I don't think it is mindless. If these politicians actually said these hateful things shouldn't they be called out on it?

It is not a secret that democrats aren't always as progressive as they should be.I would love to see a version that called them out on it too.

They skipped over some prime material too, like Bachmann calling for an investigation into whether Obama is anti-American in the last election, and the recent claim by four Republican congressmen that Congress has been infiltrated by Muslim interns.

[0+] Author Profile Page TroubleBaby replied to Brittany :

Yeah, it's so offensive and mindless to call people out on the sexist, racist and homophobic comments they make! Stop picking on them just because they're championing sexist, racist and homophobic views (and legislation)! No one say anything the next time Michele Bachmann claims that health care reform will result in children being given abortions in school "sex clinics," and that Obama's going to force your kids into reeducation camps to make them OMG accept teh gays, or when she makes bigoted comments about anti-American Muslims. Ignore all the remarks about how homosexuals are deviant, will warp America's children, and violence against them doesn't really count. Don't bring up the fact that elected officials are attempting to walk all over separation of church and state and marginalize all non-Christians. Don't bring up the fact that they're straight-up lying and saying abortion causes breast cancer. Definitely don't bring up the 30 Republicans who all voted AGAINST Franken's anti-rape amendment because they were more interested in defending Halliburton than supporting rape victims' right to see their rapist brought to justice. We wouldn't want to offend any poor Republicans with reality; then they might actually have to consider who and what they're voting for.

I don't know what the "other side" is for you, but when the "other side" means those supporting bigotry, ignorance, and the violation of human rights, yeah - I'll "bash" them all I want, since, you know, they're racist, intolerant, anti-gay, anti-woman assholes.

[0+] Author Profile Page Brittany replied to TroubleBaby :

I won't retort with flames about democrats because I don't want to start a war, but I'll just say that you're very naive if you think that the democrats are better than republicans and they're not out for themselves.

It's offensive to me that this video not only bashes republicans, but religious people as well. It's becoming more and more of a problem when it comes to liberals not respecting peoples' views and opinions, and yet say that conservatives are the intolerant ones.

Yeah, right.

[0+] Author Profile Page Juli replied to Brittany :

I'm sorry, but didn't darktruth say "It is not a secret that democrats aren't always as progressive as they should be.I would love to see a version that called them out on it too."

I'm pretty sure that no one argued democrats > republicans. So who's naive?

[0+] Author Profile Page aleks replied to Brittany :

The difference is that Democrats represent more than a collection of hates, resentments, entitlements and paranoias, whereas the post-Bush GOP is just Nixon's Southern Strategy plus Snowe and Collins. Do you see Democrats pushing a Constitutional amendment to ban "religious people" (because God knows religious people are all Republicans) from getting married? Do you remember who the Republican vice presidential nominee was last year, or have any idea why Joe Wilson, Sean Hannity, Rush Limbaugh, and Michele Bachmann are the most popular voices in the party? We're talking about a political party so ridiculous they can't openly acknowledge that the President of the United States isn't an illegal immigrant because they depend on that bizarre racist myth for most of what's left of their support.

No wonder Brittany thinks quoting Republicans accurately equates to vile slander.

[0+] Author Profile Page Melissa replied to Brittany :

It would. If it were posted to Republican-heavy sites.

"If you want men to be able to marry other men! Bwahahahaha!"

...etc.

We find this funny because it talks about all the political issues that we find ridiculous and offensive. Many Republicans find the concept of Choice ridiculous and offensive.

In short, there's nothing wrong with picking out the points of view with which you disagree when you're trying to make clear why you...well...disagree!

[0+] Author Profile Page TroubleBaby said:

Yeah, like I said, I'm against bigotry. Period. It doesn't matter what political party someone is, if they make bigoted comments they should be held accountable. You're the one acting like the political party you favor should have its offensive stances ignored just because it's the one you favor, and therefore holding its members accountable for their own words is somehow mean and unfair. And hint, "Democrats do bad stuff too!!!" doesn't excuse a Republican lying about women's health or treating homosexuals as non-people or any of the other things already described.

And the video doesn't "bash" religious people, it simply states what those people have ACTUALLY SAID. Sorry if you think that Christianity SHOULD be allowed to refute science, dictate women's place in society, or be defined as the one true religion for everyone in this country, but that's not how it works. Claiming that it's "intolerant" not to let you force your beliefs on everyone else shows a huge sense of entitlement. No evil liberals are stopping you from believing in creationism or being submissive to your husband if that's what you want, but those beliefs have no place in dictating public policy - especially when they're being used to say, "The Bible says women have to do this," "the Bible says homosexuality is immoral." The Bible is not the law of this land, so no, it doesn't get to determine what is taught in schools or who gets what rights.
