Adam Serwer at Tapped lets us know that Rush Limbaugh will be a judge for the Miss America Contest. "[I]t seems to me that when looking for the judge of a beauty contest sexism may be more of a feature than a bug...Someone who laments the 'chickification' of American culture probably enjoys a ritual that puts women -- how would the RNC put it -- 'in their place,'" Serwer writes.

I completely agree. Disgusting individuals for a nasty competition. Why try to pretend that this is something that it isn't (or as our president might put it, "put lipstick on a pig")?

I'm worried about this. Not that I like Miss America, but because Limbaugh is such a disgusting misogynist, I'm worried that he will try and use his power as a judge to force the young women in the contest to give him sexual favors.

Speaking of Miss America, I played basketball on the same team as a woman who won Miss America. We were both ten at the time and she was the only girl on the team.

But I can't get over how royally fucked it is that somebody who obviously hates women and thinks they're worth shit is going to be given even more power to JUDGE them. It's like ... could you possibly give women a bigger "Look at how vapid and worthless you are to us!" middle finger? But I suppose not a single contestant will even consider withdrawing over this.
Oh, well. Limbaugh's gonna burn in hell anyway, so that's all right.
I can't help picturing a teeter-toter with Limbaugh on one side and all 50 contestants on the other.

Ever since they took the crown from Ms. California from speaking her mind, I've boycotted this show and made sure that the rest of my family knew this as well, and stopped going to that trash Perez Hilton's site.
Oh no, she gave an honest opinion on gay marriage that wasn't the politically correct answer when she was asked.
