When phone cams come in handy

Just a random shot I took yesterday of the "Women's Health" section at my local Eckerd drug store that I wanted to share.
Yes, it's no big news that women's products are very, very often pink for marketing purposes, but seeing an entire section of women's health supplements was just too pinkified to not point out.

That's just truth in labeling. If I were to accidentally ingest one of these fine products, for instance, I might be tempted at some point in the future to watch Grey's Anatomy.
More disturbing then the overly pink marketing was the "Family Planning" section of my local CVS. Everything from condoms, lubrication and pregnancy tests were in a LOCKED CASE!!! That's right, in the middle of the aisle under lock and key. As if there wasn't enough of a stigma now you have to get someone to open the case and hand you ribbed for her pleasure. I could see how this would make people uncomfortable and discourage them from purchasing. And this was in Brooklyn!!
I see this often where I live, actually...

they are often behind locked doors/within sight of a cashier because they are most likely to be stolen.
I think that's more of a theft prevention thing...
It appears to me that a lot of the packages have something about breast cancer research, actually.
Actually, most of those brands are not normally in pink packages - they appear to have the special Breast Cancer Awareness packaging out (always comes out in September - October).
I'm a breast cancer survivor and I can warn you the world is about to turn pink for breast cancer awareness. Now, my birthday is in October and I freakin' hate pink. Am I allowed to change my birthday? LOL.
At my old grocery store, they used to stock the tampons and pads next to baby diapers. I didn't appreciate that.
/slight hijack
I think that's a pretty common setup--I've noticed it before and became equally unappreciative.
Has anyone else seen the bright pink earplugs, in a bright pink box, labeled "women's ear plugs"? Seriously? For my ear-gina, perhaps?
I don't get it, what's so bad about pink
Have you ever looked at the "girl" aisle for toy stores? It looks like 20 people threw up Pepto Bismol. :-p
