New iPhone app rates your attractiveness
Since we already have the iPhone's Purity Ring application, the Wobble, the iGrope and the obnoxious "I Am Rich" app, why not throw some good old-fashioned lookism in there while we're at it?
This doesn't seem nearly as bad as the others, but is still a reminder of how technology can depress me as much as it can excite me. Are there any iPhone apps folks have that are actually doing some good for the world?

Damn that's a lot of work to come up with a number. What makes one attractive? Why, it's the distances between these dots, obviously.
And funny that they're testing it on a photoshopped picture...
to quote Sarah Haskins, "Tell me more about this foolproof system."
So obviously, this is dumb. Some kids in my high school did a "science project" using basically the same technique... and they used photos of our classmates. As you can imagine, shit got ugly quick...
oh. no. that's terrible!

I forgot to reply to this.
The Monterey Bay Aquarium offers an app to help users order sustainable seafood.
There are also attachments that turn iPhones into vibrators... so that's doing some good, right?
Ew ew ew. Human beings are not objects to be rated on the basis of a number. Beauty is relative! When will people realize that?
Agreed, Lilith Luffles and everyone else but I have to point out that it seems like this app measures proportionality. Granted, that does not equate to beauty but it is pretty traditional way of "measuring" physical appearance.
You know, it's really interesting though. I bet they use the Golden Ratio.
We're still harping on the "I am rich" app? Isn't it pretty clear by now that you missed the point on that one?
am I the only one that thinks this is pretty cool?? there are a lot of scientific studies about face proportions and symmetry resulting in someone being judged as attractive or unattractive.
No you`re not.

I don't have an iPhone, much less these "apps" of which you speak, but I enjoyed reading about this:
iPhone application can help the autistic
That's really cool, Abby B.
don't forget about the "good deeds" app!
