Clit talk, with Mary Roach

I love Mary Roach's books. I think she's awesome, and I totally stole the idea of using quippy footnotes in The Purity Myth from her book Bonk. Listen to her be smart. (More of Roach here.)

I did not know about female nocturnal erections, that is really interesting. I had never heard of Mary Roach before this post, so thanks Jessica! Getting a copy of Bonk ASAP.

Funny you should mention Roach. I read "Stiff" a few years ago and just today started reading "Spook" and have "Bonk" sitting on the shelf ready to be read next. :) I love her wit.

I did know about the analogues and all that, but then I did major in biology, so it's kind of obvious from taking physiology, anatomy, and developmental biology.

Someone should mention that "female" is the default sex, if you will, unless there's a surge of testosterone at the right moment. Then clitorises (clitori?? :D) suddenly overgrow and nads pop externally. Fun!
