15 year-old becomes youngest African American woman to fly across the country

This is awesome. 15 year-old Kimberly Anyadike of Los Angeles flew across the country in 13 days (making about a dozen stops) with Levi Thornhill, 87, who served with the Tuskegee Airmen.

This is awesome. And I'm glad that she is over the age of 10, it would be awful to start the race to the bottom for youngest pilot again.

That's really cool. I wish I have the guts to do that. I'm such a fuckin coward and I hate planes. I get nervous when flying.

Wow! Very cool!!! Love it!

For the people who are cheering, I wonder if the name Jessica Dubroff rings a bell. I was nine when her story took place, but it was a lesson well learned.

I wish we'd just let kids be kids.

This is great. I am impressed!!

If you read the attached article Kimberly Anyadike wanted to do make the flight. She asked one of her instructors about it and the instructor told her it would be hard. Just because she is young does not mean she can't do it. There is a huge difference between a 7 year old and a 15 year old.

This is soooo cool! My secret dream is to fly. The bit about the Tuskegee Airmen is especially impressive. Wow.
Wait, her next step is to get her pilot license? What does she have now?

This story rocks for so many reasons. A teenage girl pilot, the Tuskegee connection, and then the AP homework comment . I love this kid ! Cool, smart and so connected to history. Love her!
I read elsewhere she wants to be a cardiothoracic(sp?) surgeon. Do you know how few women there are in that field? Love this kid ! Did I say that already??:)
