I understand about the Florida case. Uncooperative victims are a big problem in abuse/violence prosecutions. If you can't meet your elements with a victim that says he or she will lie on the stand, you're ethically bound not to prosecute.

That Wells Fargo piece is surreal. I can't wrap my head around it. How on earth they could justify treating people that way... I've got no words for it.

After reading the article about missing women, I wonder how many of the excess deaths are due to a lack of health care for pregnant women. Don't something like 99% of preventable deaths from pregnancy and childbirth occur in "developing" nations? And, of course, this would be a prime example of gender-based health care discrimination.

Thanks for linking to the Well's Fargo article. I've continued to bank with them through the economic crisis because they were one of the few "big banks" that didn't seem to be in financial trouble, but jesus, this is awful. I also have to say that at one Well's Fargo in Nebraska, they hosted car washes ON THE BANK'S PROPERTY. Funny that only women were the ones in bathing suits doing the washing. Well's Fargo is a gimmick bank. It's all about image to them and not about what they can do for the customer.
