I like that he doesn't go there like an enemy with a chip on his shoulder. I'm all for the civilized respecting of differences. And if you really are pro life you have to show up on issues like the AT&T case, sex ed, adoption, child care, prenatal health care. Be real with it.

We should start a pro-life movement that's focused on advocating for the personhood of post-fetal sentient beings.

Really excellent points Ann :). I really appreciated the guy from RockforLife.com. I like how he pointed out that the "far-left pro-abortion" people make up a small percentage of the American population during his first segment, and then talked about how Obama was primarily elected by the "far-left pro-abortion people". Perhaps I'm mistaken but those two concepts seem at least remotely contradictory. I also liked how he skirted the question about vaccines and only used that as a chance to talk about how expensive and ineffective the vaccine actually is. At least it's nice to know that he could tell that his position on the conscious clause is flawed because he doesn't feel that it should apply to anything other than abortion/women's health.

On a side note (and I'll admit to using a bit of a generality here) many of the people that these news programs enlist to talk about the anti-choice side of the debate are men. I know there are a few women that are very vocal about their lack of support for abortion, but most of the voices I hear from this side of the debate are male. I wonder if this has to do with the fact that many on the far-right are against women being in leadership positions, or if it's because many of the more staunch (and I don't mean to imply all here) are male.

One thing I've never been able to understand about this debate is how we've still not managed to find common ground. How is it not common ground to say that we'd all like to reduce the number of abortions (woohoo for proper, honest, accessible, inexpensive access to contraceptive information)? How is it not common ground to say that a women should have a choice about what to do with her body and if you don't like that choice then please feel free not to use it?

Look how much the internet has helped us in are daily life. But be careful in the internet because some of the people are using this in the wrong way. Like check121.im. If you see any sort of message or anything else bearing the label check121.im, claiming you have an instant message waiting for you, don't open it. Check121.im isn't an instant messaging service – check 121, check 151, similar sites, are all phishing campaigns. The people that are doing this are trying to get your Facebook login info, and maybe even use your name and identity to get installment loans. Facebook is riddled with phishers and scammers trying to get personal info to commit identity crimes, and Facebook has been found wanting as far as doing anything about it. It's doubtful short term loans could get Facebook to do something about the check121.imscamsters.
