My favorite Bea Arthur moments
A lot of folks have written lovely things about Bea Arthur, mourning her loss. I don't know that I have anything particularly enlightening to add, but I thought I'd share some of my favorite Bea Arthur moments. Love this woman.

I can't believe I've never seen Maude. Now I want to rent the whole series.
I only ever knew her as Dorothy, but I loved her so much- she simultaneously reminded me of my grandma and of myself (or perhaps, rather, her character did).

If you can sift through the offensive "Bridezillas" and even MORE offensive "I Want to Save Your Life" ads, WE plays Golden Girls marathons pretty much every day.
Oh man, Maude was amazing. I have the first season, this episode is on it. Im desperately waiting for the remaining seasons to come out on DVD.
My mother introduced me to Maude and Golden Girls when I was a young girl - she loved Bea Arthur's strong, feminist characters.
That's no small matter for a woman born and raised in Iraq!

Well and now it is not norm...
After the child was born, mother, wishing to kill a germ, should be under supervision of expert group of psychologists which should make the decision - it is possible to leave to it the child or not, after all on the one hand, she wished it to kill, means - on that is the reasons, and these reasons can still exist. On the other hand, its doubt «to kill - not kill» it could to be dictated by such factors as fear of the future, uncertainty in etc., and the child as that she then did not see, she saw only swelled stomach and a nausea. But now the situation has changed - here he is a live child to whom, probably, there was any relation, and in this situation to kill a germ it is possible to recognise its previous desire insignificant in sense of absence of necessary legal consequences.
I suppose, that my position concerning abortions is thought insufficiently over, and skilled accoucheurs, physiologists and the other scientists leaning in the judgements on the facts, clinical practice, can add much therefore the position concerning abortions will become complicated, will change a little.
I only know Bea from Golden Girls too, but I used to love it. They are funny and poignant stories told with much love for the characters.
She will be missed. I particularly took inspiration from her, she's an attractive lady, but she's big and she has a very deep voice which are not traditional feminine qualities. I've often felt unfeminine in my appearance and I've thought of her to make myself feel better.

When Maude was on in prime time I was just a child so I didn't see much of it. But I watched it in syndication when I was a teenager and I absolutely loved it.
And I remember watching The Golden Girls when I was in my early 20s. I thought it was great to watch a show about 4 active, older women.
RIP, Bea.
Bea Arthur is fantastic. My all time favorite show is definitely Golden Girls. I remember watching it with my mom on Saturday nights as a kid. She was great with a turn of a phrase and that glare that could pickle anyone's liver. :)
She will be missed.
I mostly knew of her from the Golden Girls as well...
... and, unfortunately, the Star Wars Holiday Special ;-)
