John McCain Twitter FAIL
Gawker caught this on John McCain's Twitter feed:

Well, John, during the campaign you certainly had a few ideas about beaver management...

You know, jokes about beavers aside, this sort of disingenuous, anti-intellectualism really annoys me.
Does John McCain really expect us to believe that he doesn't understand the concept of wildlife management? Because, if he doesn't understand what it means to manage wildlife, then he's a freaking moron and shouldn't be anywhere near the halls of power.
I'm so sick of this Republican anti-intellectualism. When did the Republican party become the high school cafeteria? Apparently any sign of intelligence is uncool (But being an exorcist is totally ok.)
That same link features a tweet from my honey's co-worker calling him out for getting a haircut and wanting pizza. yeah.
HAHA. I wondered if that was Andrew!
So McCain is complaining about money spent on wildlife and it's then related to how he doesn't support birth control...
Is the only common link "We hate McCain"?
I agree, it's kind of a stretch.
Oh c'mon. It's a light-hearted reference to the slang use of beaver for vagina. Sometimes it's ok to let your inner 12-year-old laugh a little. (Apologies if you come from an area that doesn't use that particular slang)
My inner 12-year-old loves jokes related to slang terms for genitals. They're even better than potty jokes.
James, I assumed Ann was using "beaver" as slang.
1) I 2) I agree Sandra ... like Bobby Jindal's "Gee, shucks, what do we need volcano monitoring for?" It makes me concerned about the intelligence levels of the Republican leadership.
That should say, "1) I (heart) vag jokes." The less-than-three method of heart illustration does not work with the HTML tagging on these comments. :)
Thanks Johanna, for calling out Bobby Jindal on his volcano-monitoring comments. Living in the shadow of an active volcano (Mt. St. Helens), I'm rather attached to the idea of volcano monitoring, as I imagine my fellow Feministing-ers in Hawaii and Alaska are. I couldn't believe that the governor of Louisiana would make such a flip and stupidly unaware remark.
I like to think that letting our citizens know that molten hot lava may be heading in their direction so they can get out of the way is just good government.
But that's me. :)
I wondered if he was just hoping that one of those poorly monitored volcanoes in Alaska would erupt and take out his competition for 2012.
and Joe Biden rises to the level of an intellectual genius?
Only compared to some.
Being mistaken about something is okay. Shit happens and no one is perfect. Reveling in your ignorance is the problem here.
I was most annoyed by this tweet of his: "#8. $200,000 "tattoo removal violence outreach program to could help gang members or others shed visible signs of their past" REALLY?"
Gang tattoos tend to be very visible, for example on the neck. For former gang members, these permanent marks might hinder or halt their JOB SEARCH efforts. I think it's a noble effort, and considering how expensive this multi-session procedure is, $200,000 might not even be enough.
McCain needs to stop with these little "Letterman Top Ten" Lists(he just created another one). It just makes him look bitter.
Well, to be fair, in John McCain's world, $200,000 is just the down payment on the team of lawyers on needs to shed (and shred) signs of his past. He's probably just surprised the cost is so low.
Or he's just a jackass.
Or both.
Since when is John McCain on Twitter? I thought he couldn't use the internet?
