I have a quick question. I knew the Gag Rule prevented health clinics from discussing abortion, but what does this have to do with their funding?
clinics that even so much as acknowledge abortion get their funding pulled completely.

I know this well. I covered this Bush act, and later traveled to countries where its enforcement meant female suffering and increased the rate of abortions b/c without family planning services women suffer unwanted pregnancies, thus making abortions more frequent. (In many places doctors get paid handsomely in cash bribes for abortions, so if there is no NGO family planning then docs actually like this, for the cash money it brings them!) Thus, W’s 1st presidential act was massive symbolism for American’s. For women on other countries it had a firmer texture.
