I would hope you're kidding. It's a bottle stopper, not a bottle opener.

Joking!

omg, stopper, it is a bottle stopper! ha.

I have the Franklin Mint nude pole dancer bottle stopper limited edition ceramic plate. Although the Franklin Mint cannot make any guarantees about the future value of such a plate, I personally believe that its worth will triple in the upcoming years.

You know a company is definitely going to be around for a long time when they spell the name of their product wrong on the page where they're selling it.

Well, it certainly is tasteless. But I've also seen similar plastic crap featuring endowed naked men, pens that when tilted cause clothes to slide off a guy exposing his penis, underwear with an imprint of David's (Michelangelos's David) crotch, etc.

Personally I would be more offended if it were a violent or degrading depiction, like that pencil sharpener thing posted here once, or the urinals shaped as women's open mouths.

And I would likely take offense to plastic naked doctors/nurses and naked teachers, et. al., because there is no reason for a those performing these roles to be naked. Yeah, Yeah I know it's a fantasy, but still.

Here there is clearly a pole and the boots; and well, the nakedness is part of stripping isn't it? So if this is sexist, then is stripping sexist?

Probably I have over analyzed this one.

For every one product like the one you mention, I can show you a hundred that depict women in such a manner (or worse). This is about our sexist society as a whole and how crap-tons of these products contribute to it.

Not only is this hideous, it's also terribly impractical. How are you supposed to fit the bottle back in the fridge with this huge plastic thing on top?

The answer to the question of what to get for the male classy wine connoisseur in your life!

"Keep your wine as fresh and fruity as you are."

Connotation fail!

it is sickening, but i have seen worse such as what spike the cat mentioned...

Yeah, I don't think this is sexist, it certainly sexually objectifies, but that is different from sexist. It certainly doesn't portray women as being less intelligent or less able.

It's childish tat for sexually immature people, rather like old seaside postcards.

The art is awful too, I think this goes in the 'wouldn't let it in my house' category, but I can't see it doing anything differently than any other form of flacid pseudopornography that you see at hen or stag parties.

Sexism includes anything that contributes to stereotyping and/or oppression. I’d say portraying a topless woman as a sexual object certainly fits that definition.

How many of these posts have to be made before you all realize that (even if you think this one product isn’t sexist), TAKEN AS A WHOLE, these products contribute to a sexist culture that is hostile toward women and girls? This is elementary feminism, folks.

ShelbyWoo,

Stripping is one of those edge issues in feminism where you're likely to find a lot of disagreement. Like Spike the Cat says, if we call the stopper sexist we have to ask ourselves, "Is stripping sexist?" And that's a question that's going to produce an incredibly varied response in a young feminist community. I'm not weighing in on one side or the other, just trying to say that there is no unequivocal answer about stripping.

I just saw this website for the first time today, and I have to say, this stripper bottle stopper looks a lot like the silouettes on the website logo.

Is it really wrong for a woman to use her assets for monetary gain? All stripping isn't the same, its not all prostitution at least not in the purest sense of the word. I'm a broke-ass student and I have been offered a gig or three...haven't done it, can't say I never would...
