Oh Henry!

My crush on Henry Rollins is no secret. As I have said before, he may be a complicated man, but I can appreciate that. Moreover, seeing that he not only reads, but recommends Feministing, well that just makes him my destiny.
*swoon*

Well that's just plain awesome! It also means he has likely read at least one comment of mine. HI HENRY WE LOVE YOU!
Wow, that's so awesome! I'll add that to my list of reasons why that man is amazing. So far I've got sexy, tattooed, feminist punk rocker... that sounds almost too good to be true!;)
Could he get any cooler? I don't think so!
I wish he'd leave a comment now and then, but I guess he may not want to end up with an inbox of swooning e-mails from love struck feminists.
Thanks, Hank, for visiting with us and being my favorite anti-rock star dude.
I'm reading Feministing because I've got a six pack and nothin' to do.
You may have nothing to do with your life, but I imagine Henry Rollins could find better things to do than read a blog he didn't care for much. Plus, the fact he listed it publically means he's okay with people knowing he associates himself with it. So, I feel comfortable with the assumption he reads it cuz he likes it... not just cuz he's bored.
As far as I can tell, Stephen A is playing with the lyrics from a couple of Black Flag-songs... but I guess you missed the reference.
Gimme gimme gimme! Gimme some more endorsements!
Yeah. Black Flag reference.
FEMINISTING PARTY TONIGHT!
I fell a little bit in love with Henry when I read his book "Solipsist" when I was 15. I actually discovered that before I knew about Black Flag. Ever since then, he's been one of my hero-crushes. If you're out there somewhere Henry, you fucking rocked my world!
I already had a crush. Now I'm really in trouble.
Seconded.
Adorable.
One of the most polite men I've had the pleasure of meeting.
Feminist.
Black Flag.
Consider me smitten.
I already had a crush. Now I'm really in trouble.
I have a friend from HS who was totally the "Nice Guy" kind of guy. We were always pretty close, but then he turned obnoxious during college and seemed to be leaning in an anti-feminist, smug, reactionary direction. And then he discovered Henry Rollins. Okay, I'm sure there were others things as well, but in my mind, his personality transplant from feeling-sorry-for-myself-Nice-Guy to thoughtful, funny, progressive thinker came right around the time he started reading Rollins, and discussing him with me. He opened up my friend's eyes to to some other ways of thinking, and other ways of interacting with people, and for that, I've always appreciated Henry Rollins.
i haven't kept up with post-black flag henry rollins , but if his mindset is even remotely similar to how it was back then, and he claims to be a feminist, i would probably kill myself before i ever called myself the f-word. half the songs on "my war" are about killing women; furthermore, at later black flag shows, hank spent more time beating the shit out of people than he did singing. husker du left black flag's label because of the super-violent and misogynistic cover art on all the compilations that included husker du tracks.
black flag is still one of my favorite bands; i just hope henry has changed since then.
Have you attempted to read or listen to anything he's said in the last couple of years? It seems as if you haven't. It's out there. As was said, he is a complicated man, and he's NEVER said he's perfect.
Yeah, I'm still pissed off that about the songs "Slip It In" and "I Don't Care." Songs about rape, coerced sex, and degrading women don't sit too well with me.
This is awesome! Like I told Samhita, I met Henry after his spoken word performance in Dallas and we actually talked about Feministing. (One of the best moments of my life!) I'm so glad he is giving y'all more love! I love Henry, he has really helped shaped both my musical tastes and my worldview. Kudos Henry and Feministing!
Mmmm Henry Rollins.
I love a man who READS, travels the world, is opinionated, gets involved and sings punk rock.
Not to mention he's gorgeous.
Thanks for endorsing!
Henry is such an inspiration. I wish everyone would expose themselves to what he has to say.
Fine interview! And Henry Rollins, all the same, the person.
