Election night in Harlem

I've seen lots of videos of the election night celebrations, but this one from Jay Smooth is by far my favorite.

Yes we did!

I keep wondering when stuff like this will stop bringing me to tears.

Jay's words usually move me. Seeing him speechless moved me even more.

No kidding, T-Monster. I have walked around looking like a complete dork for two days now, because at even the slightest mention of Obama's victory makes me very emotional.

I'm a nerd, and I find all the footage of people reacting and celebrating keeps vaguely reminding me of the CGI footage inserted into the end of the remastered version of Return of the Jedi...it shows all these different space cities celebrating the overthrow of the Empire.
I know...NERD.

I live in Harlem, so that is where I was. I can't even describe it. I still don't fully have my voice back. I screamed a scream of letting go of George Bush I never thought would come out of me. Yes we did.

this video nearly moved me to tears. it's just... beautiful.

Debates and insights from within cultural studies and economic theory have played a part in understanding culture’s invigorated role in society. Developing a culture is a process of meaning-making and identity-creation, and within that all products play a part because they embody symbolic value and trigger experiences. Increasingly consumers buy products not for their practical purpose or technical qualities but for the experience and meaning they hope they will engender.

Thus design and aesthetics take on a completely new and more significant role as the value of styling increasingly predominates. This means that the economy is progressively a cultural one as it is determined and driven by cultural priorities.
