Kids vote!
Rebecca Traister brings us this great video of kids voting - it's cute, it's heart-warming, and it takes away some of my election night jitters.

"Because she hunts moose!"
Definitely the best reason to not vote for McCain/Palin.
I'm impressed by some of those kids, they're very well-spoken and seemed well informed for their age. It's great to see that the younger generations (not just the youngest voter demographic) getting involved in their government.
This is exactly the kind of involvement children should have in politics. How better to inspire children to begin a lifetime of making informed decisions?
I remember when I was 8 years old, my grandmother took me with her to her polling place for the 1996 presidential elections. It was in somebody's garage. After she was done, we went for a walk in her neighborhood and she talked to me about the importance of voting when I'm older.
I voted today Mei! Obama '08!
Yay, now I feel slightly less crazy for taking my 2-year old with me to the polls. I had him read the letters on the "VOTE HERE" sign (reading letters is his favorite leisure activity anyway), taught him the word "vote," and had him help me push the green "vote" button. Who knows- it may end up being his first memory!
I watched this with my fourteen year old daughter, who put in tons of volunteer hours over the summer (and over a few weekends since she started high school) for Obama's campaign.
Funny thing, it only recently hit me (like a load of bricks) that in four years, she actually WILL be able to vote for the candidate for whom she's already worked so hard.
*sniff*
So proud.
That was adorable!
Today I was at "music together" class with the twins I babysit and all the parents/nannies were talking about the election... and this little boy about 2 1/2 years old wanted to be part of the conversation so he yells "I'M gonna go vote... right after I get my diaper changed..." He was dead serious, the whole group cracked up, it was so cute!
