Boy-band therapy

Sometimes people ask me how I deal with all the anti-feminist, anti-woman craziness. Well, one answer is that I do things like go to ridiculous (but fun in a puffy paint shirt, huge fan button kinda way) concerts. Joey 4-eva.

I saw NKOTB in DC earlier this month, and laughed hysterically through most of the show. I had forgotten some of the silly lyrics and dance moves, and it all came rushing back in two crazy hours. The best part was when I stood up and did a rap, word for word, for a song I hadn't heard in fifteen years. I completely lost it after that.

I expected that most of the people at the concert would be 30-year-old women acting like they were 14; what I forgot was that we were all old enough to drink now. It certainly was a scene.

This is the second time today that something on feministing has made me piss my pants with laughter. Yey Feministing!

I gotta say, that the NKOTB concert in Vegas a few weeks ago was one of the BEST concerts I have been to.

And I know you'll all be jealous when I tell you that I met Donnie Wahlberg a few years back...and HE hugged ME. It was like the 9 year old inside of me was squeeling with joy. :)

Who was your favorite New Kid? Mine was always Danny, since both of my sisters

I saw New Kids in their hometown of Boston a month ago. I was a huge fan in my childhood, always carried a torch, hoping they might reunite one day... They did not disappoint! They rocked those old hits and I even liked their new songs. I was signing and dancing as if the spirit of my 10 year old self had taken over me. Best. Show. Ever.
I got out the old CDs, and when I'm feeling stressed, a little Step By Step reminds me of a simpler time. NKOTB 4 life!
