Well, now that John Cleese says it, it must be true! I love that man and couldn't agree more.
1- I love Monty Python,
2- I think Sarah Palin is unqualified
3- I DO NOT think sarah palin is in any way stupid, nor do I think she doesn't understand what is coming out of her mouth.
I think she knows what she is saying, I think she HAS those beliefs and I think they are dangerous.
If she had more experience (like Cheney) she would have been more dangerous. But I really feel that we should stay away from trying to portray her as stupid or weak. To me it seems that she is neither of the two. but she IS terrible and needs to be stopped.
Roja, I'm gonna have to disagree with you here - whlie I definitely agree she has certain "beliefs" that she actually adheres to, I think John Cleese was referring to her performance during the VP debate and certain interviews regarding complicated world issues, policy matters and other subjects she doesn't have much experience with - in these cases, she really doesn't know what she is saying, she's just spewing the rhetoric fed to her by her handlers. You can tell this is the case because she hardly ever directly answers any questions; she just goes into speech-giving notecard-reading rote memorization mode. It's this combination of complete confidence in her worldview and astounding ignorance in other matters that makes her so dangerous, imo.
And I love John Cleese even more now.
What I love about this is that not only does he manage to be incredibly critical of Palin, but he also injects some humor.... all without resorting to sexist jokes.
I didn't think I could love him more.
