For those of you who aren't aware of the wonderful women of The Hysterical Festival, we partnered with them a while back to have a Feministing Happy Hour right before their Hysterical Fundraiser, which was pretty awesome and hilarious.
Their 4-day long festival is already among us, and we wanted to alert you NYC folk to the event. You can check out the schedule here, but a few shows in particular I'd recommend to check out is Thursday's Ambiguously Brown Comedy Hour hosted by my homegirl Desiree Burch, Friday's Girls Gone Gay hosted by our huge crush Murray Hill, and Funny Bones Burlesque on Saturday night. Hotness.
We're also having a NYC Happy Hour next Friday, the 17th, for some pre-hysterical feminist fun. So save the date, location coming soon...

Is the Feministing Happy Hour 18+ or 21+?
I'm not so much interested in boozing it up as I am Femiinisting it up.
Hey, this is maybe kind of a weird question, but -- how welcoming are these happy hours usually to completely new people? Does everyone usually know each other well already or is it a mix of friends and strangers? I just moved to NYC about a month ago and I pretty much don't know anyone (or anywhere, besides certain little pockets in the village), but I'd love to show up if I have time.
It's pretty difficult to find places that are accommodating and aren't 21+ in NYC, but we're working on it. I'll keep you updated!
As for your question idiolect, our happy hours are very welcoming. (At least I would hope so!) There are obviously a lot of folks in the NYC feminist community who know each other, but we're all about the love and have a lot of newcomers too - so please stop by!
