Friday Feline Blogging (Monty's cousin edition)

While being Monty's auntie is one of the greatest joys in my life, I had to represent this once for my cat-lovers and take the opportunity to show off my newly adopted kitty, Tweet. This scrawny Russian Blue wants to eat everything at every hour of the day, creepily stares at me while I sleep and has a seemingly abnormal amount of flatulence. (I bet a bunch of y'all could say the same for your live-in lovas.)

Check out another pic after the jump of her and my other cat, Cracker, who loffes her. I mean, I've never seen so much ass-licking in my life. (Sorry, it's true!)

Be still my heart! How did you decide on Tweet?

How adorable! You're so lucky to have cats that get along--we adopted a little kitten almost two months ago, and our cat STILL hates her. It's unfortunate.

Adopting pets is the most amazing thing in the world! There is not other activity in the world that potentially saves an animal's life, helps to prevent unwanted animal issues, and procures a wonderful (if a little rough around the edges, sometimes) fluffy ball of love. :D Congrats on your newest family member!

Well, I sent a tweet to peeps asking what I should name the new kitty and the thought came into my head...hehe. And her meow sounds like a birdy.

I'm sorry Cate, yeah I was terrified about that too. He was not happy about it for the first day or two. A friend of mine had a similar situation, but while her two cats still don't necessarily LOVE each other, they get along just fine now.

Adorable! I love Monty, but I am definitely going to be a crazy cat lady when I get older. Heck, I'd be one now if I didn't live with my bf who has a strict "2 cats" limit. We have 2 cats. :)

Poor Tweet has the kitten poots?

Most kittens do, she'll grow out of it.

OMG... Kittens are so adorable, because they just seem to always have that certain innocent/mischievous look that just goes away when they get older. Tweet is making my biological clock tick a little faster.

Unfortunately, my Pyewhacket is convinced that she's the only cat for me.

omg, it's so cute, I could eat it with a spoon. (figuratively)

It's Caturday!

The smelly butt thing will pass. I had a cat that I called "she-whose-butt-cannot-contain-its-own-smell". It was horrible.

So sweet!

This cat looks a lot like a kitten I found in my backyard a few weeks ago. I handed it over to the local no-kill animal shelter.

@Cate - I adopted a kitten six years ago and he and my other cat still don't get along. I've just had to get used to it.

Cute kitties! And, yay for adopting pets!

When my female dog farts (which is a lot lately now that she's on grain-free food) she always whips her head around and stares at her butt as if she has no idea what just came out of there. It is both disgusting and adorable at the same time.

What an adorable kitten! I have a Maine Coon mix and really want to get another cat/kitten, but I'm afraid Agatha will hate the newcomer. The only other pet she's ever liked was my stepson's ferret, whom she loved. Farm Boy, however, couldn't get away from the Agatha fast enough. ;) It was like Pepe Le Pew and the black cat in reverse. We're going to buy a house in the next year, and when we do, we'll get another cat. I'm hoping that if we adopt the cat the day we move in to the new place, there won't be any territory issues. It won't be easy to get a new cat on the day we move, but it seems like the best solution. Besides, we have a new (human) baby, and she's taking up nearly all our time--we don't have the time to be breaking up cat fights. ;)

Still, Tweet is adorable! Good luck with her, and with your beautiful Cracker.

Tweet looks just like my baby, Mokey (short for Smokey)! Mokey is also a Russian Blue with the same shade of green eyes, and he also had those big ol' bat ears when he was a tiny kitten. He's eight years old now and has grown into those ears, but he's still my sweet, adorable, baby boy!
Neither of my babies (who are both eight) get along, but since Gizzy (short for Gizmo) is a Calico, I can't imagine that's surprising.
