Facing Race

If you are interested in shifting the race debate from one of multiculturalism and inclusion to an actual racial justice agenda, then you can't miss the Facing Race conference this November in Oakland, CA. I will be there, live-blogging, along with some of the most important voices in racial justice today.

I want to encourage everyone to attend this event if possible. One of the great things about third wave feminism is that it is passionate about other topics besides women's equality. Third wavers are just as motivated for progress and change in matters such as class and race. The Facing Race conference is the perfect place to meet other third wave feminists who are passionate about mulitcultralism. I commend the organizers of this event. It is time that the strong men and women of America stand up against oppression. It is not enough to just celebrate diveristy. When we do this, difference is emphasized, and the gap between people grows. It is important to remember that white people have more things in common with black people than they do with some other white people. It is time to break down the barriers of race that hold people back.
see you there! tis my b-day that weekend. :)
