I actually find this kinda funny- it's just too friggin' stupid.

Because we need to be looking at/feeling little plastic tits all day? That's just weird.

Why is this under "Sexiest" product watch?
Is the word Sexy being used ironically here?

Does objectification of women = sexy ?

Joyfuldinosaur- It's SEXIST product watch.

hahahahaaaa. They look like aliens. With googly eyes. And the bikini bottoms are smiling mouths or something. It's so kitschy you've got to kinda love it.

The only thing that pisses me off more than sexism is lazy sexism. What strikes me about these things is how poorly made they are. The Japanese have been doing this sort of thing for a while now. For example, these, which are of far higher quality and also provide ergonomic wrist support.

This is certainly not as bad as those shirts that came out a while back saying "boys are stupid, throw rocks at them". Those were shameful.

Guys like sex. Big deal. Lets not make a big deal out of nothing.

I've honestly always thought that a mouse looked kind of like a cunt, with the scroll button being the clit. Looks like someone was trying a little too hard, in my opinion.

@bobbigrl: it's certainly a bigger deal than you're making treating. It's objectifying woman as objects of sex...literally. Also your statement "Guys like sex. Big deal," just perpetuates the myth that men are sex crazed and can't help themselves for wanting it.

sorry for the double post...I saw an error and tried to fix it but it was too late :-(

bobbigrrl: This is probably a waste of time because your other comments are on the anti-feminist side as well, but I'm still going to point out that the problem here isn't "guys like sex". I like sex with women too. I just don't like the literal objectification of women, which is what this is.

[0+|0-] Author Profile Page bobbigrl said:

wavesandmoon, "because your comments are on the anti-feminist side". I'm sorry, but I love men and think men should be in control and in power. There is nothing sexist or anti-feminist about that.

[0+|0-] Author Profile Page dangerous.debbie said:

first of all, @ bobbigrl: WOW. i have no words for what you just said. you know, maybe my feeble feminist mind just can't comprehend why "men should be in control and in power," so perhaps you could enlighten me?

and about this awful mouse/pad combo, my boyfriend saw them on a forum last night and thought they were really funny and sent me the link. suffice it to say he got an earful about objectification of women and dismembered female body parts.

[0+|0-] Author Profile Page leighbee said:

in order to support feminism and the rise against sexism is to believe in the equality of sexes. to say men should have more power is to negate both of those concepts.

[0+|0-] Author Profile Page RiotGrrl said:

I know not to feed the trolls, but your (bobbi) statement of how men should be in control and power is actually sorta sexist.

Anyway, who thinks this product is hot? The mouse looks like those mr/ms potato head toys. The purple nipples look more like eyes or daisies than nipples.

At least these depict more than one body type. One that is pear, or bigger on the bottom (mousepad), and one that is more narrow (mouse). Why do they bother with the underwear? So weird. On the link I found the photo of the finger poking the boob to be kinda funny because it was so weird looking. Maybe this is the closest some will get to touching breasts...

"my feeble feminist mind just can't comprehend why "men should be in control and in power,"

If men shouln't be in control and in power, then why should women be in control and in power?

[0+|0-] Author Profile Page mahjani said:

bobbigrl - It is sexist to say that any specific gender should be in power. Those people who have the best interests of others at heart should be leading in the best ways they can.

Lest we get diverted from the real issues by trolls, I must point out how these products, in addition to being sexist, really look anti-ergonomic. I am concerned about all the people who will get carpal tunnel syndrome in the intrest of objectifying women. It is one thing to get carpal tunnel from masturbation or something interesting like that, but computing with a dumb mouse? What a waste! Just one more reason why it is healthier to be a feminist!

bobbigrl, saying that men should have power and control for the sole reason that they are men, and that women should not for the sole reason that they are women is the *definition* of sexism. What are you doing on a feminist blog anyway?

bobbigrl is trollin' y'all?!

This post gave it away:

"I'm sorry, but I love men and think men should be in control and in power. There is nothing sexist or anti-feminist about that."

Anyways, the mouse and mousepad... they make me kind of want to puke to be honest. They just look... gross. Anyway, the mouse looks cheap and impractical.. I mean, who would use it.

[0+|0-] Author Profile Page bobbigrl said:

Sevvy88, I'm not trollin' y'all.

I know it may come as a surprise that a woman might actually have respect and admiration for men, instead of masked contempt and bitterness.

[0+|0-] Author Profile Page alixana said:

Oh good lord, bobbigrl, you've posted in every new entry today with some sort of "bitter" remark. Go find a new hobby, please?

[0+|0-] Author Profile Page Sevvy88 said:

*Goes to find other bad trolling posts from Bobbigrl"

Hey, I love men as much as I love women. Well, okay, I do more physical lovin' with men. Well, with one specific man. Though I also like... wait, what does this have to do with leadership or business qualifications?

@Alice: the "proper usage" diagrams for those Japanese products are amusing. And as well as being better made, the anime-lady mouse pads have faces.

[0+|0-] Author Profile Page dangerous.debbie said:

bobbigrl, i think others have also stated this point, but i'll say it again. feminism is about the EQUALITY of the sexes, not enforcing that one is somehow superior to the other. so in other words, both men AND women should be "in control." you know, because both sexes are competant of that sort of thing and i love BOTH men and women.

I always wonder about the market for products like this. I've known some really immature little boys in my time (especially in my time working at a computer store), but despite their juvenile behavior and lack of experience with the real deal, I'm pretty sure none of them would have been caught dead with a product like this. So--gag gift maybe? I dunno.

Shanti- OMG, I've thought the same thing. Let us design & market a vagina mouse. Maybe at least then, the guys who buy them can maybe learn something...maybe?

bobbigrl is actually a guy who has no life

Shanti and Danyell,

Are you thinking of something like
this ?

Feministing actually blogged about it once.
