New Feministing shirts for your anti-Palin pleasure

We loved Ann's quote so much from her great piece on Sarah Palin the day she was announced as McCain's VP pick that we decided to put it on a t-shirt. It says:

"A woman candidate is not the same thing as a woman's candidate."

And on the back, "Sarah Palin does not speak for me."

More new merch to come!

Funny that the "If you like this, see more a woman's candidate products..." includes a shirt that says "McMilf"

EXACTLY! It's frightening that we're still even debating this.
Love the shirt.

Does the money for the tee shirt go to feministing? 30 is a bit pricey, but I'm willing to fork it over for a sweet tee and my favorite blog!

Great quote, simple yet powerful.

I think you can change the style of shirt for a cheaper one if you like. And yes, a portion of the money will go to the blog! (The rest goes to the vendor.) Thanks for the support!

I hate that she is getting more effort, from those for or against her, than the woman who ran that was for women.
Damn.

I had a similar idea - with a different slogan:

I'll be donating a portion of the proceeds to Feministing, so I am not a competitor :)

I love this blog.

I wish there was a shirt for male feminists. :(

Still, great stuff.

jstein,

You can make any of zazzle's shirts for men. Once you get to the page of the t-shirt that you want to purchase, click on "select a different t-shirt style" (in the same box where you can pick your color and size). From there a tab opens up that allows you to pick a men's shirt, or even a kids or infant's shirt if you wan.

happy shopping and supporting!

Love it. That quote makes a great shirt and will make a great addition to our 'can I wear a different shirt every day that lets people know they shouldn't ask me if I'm excited about the woman VP candidate?' list. It's kinda funny and fun to watch so many people turn to shirt making in the last few weeks (ours are here), like we've all got too much outrage these days to be contained in blog form.

visibility, thanks for that. Its much appreciated.

I love it!

As you browse the different shirt types you can also see the shirt on different models. The older, and curvier, women are fab (especially the lady in the baseball 3/4 sleeve tee)!

I might consider it, except it says to order one size up. Not really possible if your normal size is XL. And the ones that don't say to order up seem to only go to S/M/L.

That's why I prefer cafe press...not only do their shirts actually run true to size, but they carry plus sizes.

I would like to think a site that is normally pretty size-inclusive would consider switching to a vendor that had more sizes available.

profoundsarcasm, i agree. i LOVE Feministing but i don't love being excluded from cool stuff like this because of my size. i am sure you all had your reasons for choosing this vendor, i am just bummed i can't take part.

it makes me wonder why all these organic t-shirt companies sizes run SO small (my organization has regularly has to give tiny women larges in these things at our events because the smalls look like children's clothing) and why they don't often carry plus sizes. i am sure there is a reason other than wanting to discriminate against fat people, but i don't know what it is.

I love this shirt, and I think it has a great message. Maybe after the general election, one can get made up without the specific Palin reference on the back to help speak out against other Fauxminists.

Love the slogan, but must the t-shirt have been made by American Apparel? They're hardly pro-woman. Plus, as others have said, their clothes run ludicrously small. Even when they fit in the chest, the arm holes are way too tight for female arm softness.

Kathleen: That does make the... let's say, "irony"... both recent and ongoing.

Excellent! My co-workers and I are getting our money together for a group order. :-)

As for all of the discussion based on tee shirt sizing, it sounds like the best bet is to go with the "men's" sizing. I know, the male/female dichotomy for tee shirts sucks (can't we come up with better distinguishing categories based on shape?), but the men's shirts should provide more options as far as sizing goes. The AA fitted tees definitely do run about a size small from my experience, so heed the warning!

hey everyone! don't forget: although the post links to one particular style, you can put the slogan on any of the many t shirts they offer on the site.

by which i mean, a non american apparel 2X one should you like to! in green, even! or red!

Vanessa, maybe you could add a ps to the post?

I want to share something I found, not an anti-Palin shirt (meaning, not competition) but awesome nonetheless:
