All I can say is that Samantha Bee is amazing. :)
Did anyone see the bit where Jon Stewart let Wyatt cover the DNC instead of Sam (who is married to Jason Jones)? Funny funny parallel to the convention itself. :)
I saw it last night and it's still great. Watching the Republicans squirm as they try to avoid saying the word they know will undermine their entire logic is great. Especially love the woman who said, "there's adoption" which shows that the conservatives don't want to eliminate "choice" per se, but your OPTIONS. They want you to have "choice" but only those they deem worthy of you to have so its, 1)get pregnant keep the baby or 2)get pregnant and put it up for adoption, sending us back into a "Girls Who Went Away" era (great book by the way) with back alley abortions.
Too bad the rest of the media won't ever have the guts to do stuff like this, only in a serious manner.
Saw this last night and was rolling. Freedom to choose IS pro-choice. I guess they think that choosing to have a pregnancy and a baby is not a decision?
I guess they think pro-choice = pro-baby-hating.
Thank Goddess for the Daily Show, and for....what's that word again?
transcript, please? I'm Deaf and I have no idea what the video said.
yes yes yes. i love this woman. LOVE her!
For us Canadians out there unable to view the clip, our Canadian comic genius, Samantha Bee:

(The first clip is from last Friday - the Daily Show doesn't usually have a new show on Friday night, but last Friday and tonight were/are exceptions because of the conventions. So, I fear that this brilliant piece of comedy was missed by many. Enjoy!)
I thought this segment was wonderful! I'm so glad that "The Daily Show" is going so strongly pro-choice. Did you all see the interview with Gingrich the night before? Jon (yeah, we're on a first name basis you know) really held his feet to the fire about the choice Bristol made.
"Freedom of choice is not the same as pro-choice."
*coffee hits screen*
What?
@ BROWN TRASH PUNK!
I type up a transcript on my Lj. If you're interested, the link for that entry is:

Not advertising (as it is a personal journal usually).

Samantha Bee really hit the nail on the head. Hopefully, she was able to make some of those Republicans think about what choice REALLY means and WHY it is relevant that our politicians practice what they preach.
"feedom of choice is not the same as pro choice"
and other comments that don't make any sense:
" driving a car is not the same as operating a automobile"
" the internet is not the same as the world wide web"
" Killing someone is not the same as murder"
"Commiting a crime is not the same as breaking the law"
"police are not the same as cops"
and aparently apples are not apples, and oranges are not oranges because according to this apples are oranges and oranges are apples
Feel free to continue with this list of "phrases that don't make any sense."

sorry I hit the submit button too many times
The Daily Show has been absolutely brilliant all week covering the RNC. I couldn't be more impressed!!!
I saw this the other night and about just went through TV to give the entire Daily Show a hug *I'm a hugger*. Not to mention the other night when Jon went after Newt Gingrich for the same topic it was perfect.
Damn! I keep forgetting pro-choice=pro-abortion.
Oh, you silly republicans!
I almost had a digital orgasm when I watched this.
Yes... pro-choice is not the same as choice!! pro-choice = viable-baby-hating-killing-maiming-infanticide. Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight.
This is almost as good as that video where protestors were asked what the penalty should be for women who obtain abortions even if it was illegal.
For a change, TDS is not sexist. Nice video...
i love how you can totally see them trying to come up with some other answet - like "adoption." what? like they cant even say "choice." how am i supposed to "choose life" if "life" isnt a "choice?"
gotta love cognitive dissonance.
Far Out! That's the funniest thing I've seen in a long time. I'm in Australia, and I thought our right-wingers were pretty screwy, but I guess they're really quite sane by comparison. What I don't understand is how some Americans don't realise this is an issue that was settled years ago in most of the outside world. It just doesn't rate a mention from anyone except the lunatic fringe. I guess in America you call them Republican voters?
I will shortly be convening a men's self-help group on anger management and domestic violence avoidance, BUT, if I was a woman and I was being told what I could and could not do with my body, I'd certainly feel like picking up a gun.
Incidently, if anyone has links to anger management or anti-DV material, I'd welcome them.
David, in Melbourne, Australia. You know, that's the biggish island on the bottom left of the map, not the land-locked birthplace of Hitler - just in case there's any right-wing geographically challenged Republicans reading this. LOL. Great site BTW, it's my home page.
