Check out Courtney on Good Morning America

So yeah, they didn't give her nearly enough air-time, but our own fabulous "Ray of Light"* Courtney Martin was on Good Morning America today discussing Keira Knightley's stand against digital makeovers. Check out the story and video here.

*A nickname recently discovered at the Feministing retreat because of C's shiny-light goodness.

Go Courtney! I appreciated that they showed more specifics about how video can be altered, especially since most news coverage of digital alterations tends to focus on magazines and print images. We need a new chapter in the media literacy handbook.

Good for Kiera, and Courtney is terrific. I know it's not Friday but how about a great big feminist FUCK YOU to department stores who, in light of back to school sales, thought it would be a good move to place their smaller sized bras to the little girls section, right next to Hannah Montana merchandise?!

Adding my kudos for both Kiera and Courtney. But as alluded to in the video, can we somehow please declare a moratorium on "tempest in a 'add letter rhyming with tee here'-cup" phrases?

Wow, awesome Courtney. She is great, she came to my all women's college last fall and I really appreciated listening to her and meeting her.

Yah!!! Positive body images and loving what you got! =]

I agree more airtime for Courtney would of been good!

It's funny what kind of impact one celebrity might make. Though, it doesn't make her seem more brave, it just makes others look more cowardly or indifferent.
