Check out all the community posts!
We just approved a whole load of community posts (sorry for the delay, too many of us are on vacation this weekend!) - and they are fantastic. Make sure to check them out; maybe they'll inspire you to start writing as well!

My "Gadfly Question" was not approved without any explanation ... was I censored or is it still pending approval?
-Steven
When I click on the option to write a community post, I am told the server is not found. Is there an alternate method of submitting posts that I am not aware of?
I am still having lots of technical problems with the site. I had to create a new sign in name and can't sign in with TypeKey, so I created one with Movable Type today. I was signed in and out randomly after that, and was told that I had the wrong password and couldn't sign back in after a while. I also had to subscribe to a third feed on bloglines, since the previous two have dried up.
I don't mean to be bitching; I am a big fan of the site. I have worked on a website and I know you need to have descriptions of the problems to fix them. Have you thought of having an errors log for people to post on?
Steven, if you have a question about community standards, you can email us - but the community blog isn't going to allow posts that are trolling or that aren't feminist.
Hilary, I'm really sorry about all of that! I just fwded your comment onto our tech person, who should be commenting on here with help. And I think an errors log is a great idea, I'm going to look into it now. Thanks, so much really, for your patience!
I am here on Feministing because the people here have a different perspective than myself. I believe in constantly challenging my perspectives, et cetera. I also see worth in respectfully challenging other peoples discussion. You cannot raise the level of conversation by stiflingly the debate.
How was my suggested topic a troll?
It came at an issue from a different perspective than most people at this site perhaps, but it was still absolutely regarding feminism.
Not one word was adolescent or disrespectful, and the post actually had a suggestion for improving Feministing from someone with someone looking at it from the outside.
This prior censorship is disappointing.

What censorship? It's not censorship, stifling the debate, etc. when a print magazine's editors choose which article submissions to publish instead of publishing every single one. Rejecting an article doesn't stop the writer from getting it published somewhere else. This is just an online counterpart of that - Jessica's not stopping you from putting what you wrote on the web, after all.
Hilary,
I had the same problem at first, but it turns out, I had been using the old feministing community site! I had mixed up the urls in the changing of the site back and forth. Perhaps that's what happened to you? The new url is http://community.feministing.com/ -- if that's what you're using, then I'm not sure :( I hope it gets sorted out.
Mina-
I sent up a post that was in regards to the formating and messaging of Feministing and Feministing Community, along with a approach that would possibly fix the problem.
It does not make any sense to post that anywhere else than here.
The post was constructively critical, but it got canned.
Hey! You published my post! I'm so proud :)
Love you guys!
When you first launched the Community it had an RSS feed, but now it doesn't? Or doesn't seem to? Will the Community RSS feed ever come back?
