This week's fuck you is gonna be short and sweet -- a quickie if you will -- because I'm sure we're gonna be doing many more like this from now until the election.
Fuck you, John McCain, for being a total hypocrite when it comes to womens rights. First off, earlier this week, one of your campaign spokespeople, Carly Fiorina, said that you understand that women want their insurance to cover birth control. She failed to mention that you have voted against legislation that would have guaranteed that. Then later this week, you had the audacity to say that you're "committed to making sure there's equal pay for equal work," totally neglecting to mention that you voted against the Ledbetter Fair Pay Act, which would have guaranteed people the right to sue their employers for wage discrimination.
All of this earns a big FUCK YOU, John McCain. The first of many.

I love this feature!
More specifically, I like that the fuck you is followed by facts about John McCain. Some people get vitriolic without the facts (which is just ranting), some people know the facts but don't care enough to express an opion (which is apathetic), but this is just right.

i have been so frustrated all day catching up on all of this horrific bullshit. i just decided to check feministing to see what you ladies were saying and this was the first post i saw. YES.

I agree with the sentiment, but Ann's got her facts wrong regarding the Ledbetter Fair Pay Act. McCain said that had he voted on the bill, he would have voted against it, but he never actually voted. The vote was on April 23. McCain hasn't voted in the Senate since April 8. You can see the breakdown of votes here: http://tinyurl.com/6xlrj7. His admitted opposition to the Ledbetter Act is enough to earn him a Friday Fuck You, but please check your facts.
I couldn't find the Saturday's Fuck You about Bernie Mac referring to a woman as a hoe and Obama after trying to scold him for such a degrading comment said "I'm just kidding".
Right, this must be his new Women's Right campaign. You know, like his "99 Problems" campaign song.

I'm surprised it has taken so long for someone to mention the Ledbetter (though I think I remember seeing it one this site not to long ago).

Personally, I think that Fiorina's shot at the VP slot is dead and gone now, but we'll see how it pans out.
She's a wonderful VP nominee for the Democrats, because any competant Democratic VP will destroy her in a debate.
It is a sure bet that I will get heat for this from certain circles, but I am totally hot for you. Who has the audacity to say "fuck you" on video to the Presidential candidate of the political party that has systematically brought this country closer to dictatorship than ever? Wow, that is some balls you have there, woman. I have to hide behind an anonymous blog to do my "public policy work" against the Republicans. Bravo! I am TOTALLY on your side. I am just wondering though, is there any possibility, if they agree on certain things, that a feminist and a misogynist could...never mind.
