Friday Feminist Fuck You: Heidi Harris

... for thinking women only vote for democrats because we're "emotional" and that women under 50 don't care about abortion.

I'm totally facebooking this.

Emotional =/= irrational.

I vote Democrat because I care about other people. It's emotional. It also makes sense.

I second that 'fuck you'.

I vote democrat because they aren't as keen to shove their heads up my birth canal.

Jen, this is one of my favorite FFFUs so far.

Who would have guessed that women were capable of voting on the issues.

What an idiot.

Ever since the Harris clip was posted I have been telling people about it!

Jen you are soooooo correct in your outrage that women under 50 do not care about reproductive (abortion) rights! When an anti-choice group came to my college campus students (female and male) stood outside to counter-protest the groups' being on our campus. And young women around the country march, protest, campaign to keep abortion safe and legal and more accessible!

Also, I hated how Harris acted as if women over 50 either have no right to talk about abortion or no one cares what they have to say.

First of all, reproductive freedom does not just effect WOMEN who can become pregnant...it really effects everyone!

Secondly, many of those women have fought for many years to help make and keep abortion safe and legal for women of child-bearing age-- like me. I am grateful for the work they have done and continue to do.

so...(after all that chat) FUCK YOU HEIDI HARRIS

and thank Jen for pointing it out!!

I love the pop-up bubbles of people who are not women of reproductive age who seem to care an awful lot about women's reproductive rights. Those are brilliant. And then the whole screen of the March for Women's Lives. I still get choked up about that day. I'm one of those 1.1 million people in that crowd, which consisted of people of all ages and genders and reproductive desires and capacities.

AWESOME "Fuck You." I can't stop laughing. THANK YOU!!! At least I'm laughing and not yelling and screaming as I usually do when my "emotions" are running amok!

omg, LOL @ bubbbles of people who are not women of reproductive age. Just love those rich white men legislating over women's bodies.

that was so funny!

I agree with Chai Latte,

"I vote democrat because they aren't as keen to shove their heads up my birth canal."

Emotional not meaning upset about the country and wher it's going and thinking about issues...

Indeed! It hadn't occurred to me that my moral indignation qualifies as an emotional response, nor that it is one that's a completely valid response to what I observe.

And hey, I'm no more emotional about the issues than the folks on the other ideological platform who are freaking out about other people's pregnancies and OMG The Scary Immigrants!

Thanks, Jen!

amazing FFF! completely posting this in my forums!
