It seems that the anti-choice organization profiled in The Washington Post, Pharmacists for Life International, was not very happy that Feministing blogged about them.
A snapshot from the top of their website:
It's nice to know an organization that holds itself up as a paragon of virtue, morality and Christian values finds the time to make snarky personal insults. Nothing pleases me more than when groups like these show their true colors.
(Is anyone else just shocked that they didn't choose to quote the part of the post that called them out for supporting racists?)

They say radical like it's a bad thing. ^^
It is always refreshing to remember the true motives of organizations like this.
I don't want to trade insults with the Pharmacists for Life. Instead, I find this article in the New York Times to be an eloquent answer: http://www.nytimes.com/2008/06/03/health/views/03essa.html?ref=health
The dude has a penchant for peddling in fake medicine, eh?
They only respond the way they do because they have no ammo to go by with...so, instead of giving some kind of logical, intelligent answer to feministing accessing their site, all they could say is that we are "radical feminazi's" haha....
Come on, Pharmacists for Life, if you're going to quote, have the balls to quote the entire sentence:
"The Pharmacists for Life International site, for example, (in addition to having an incredibly sophisticated web design, ahem) links to anti-choice nuts like Jill Stanek, who argues that abortion providers and Chinese people eat fetuses (!), and The Pill Kills campaign."
Also, I invoke Godwin's Law on your website. Your entire movement: FAIL.
DAMN RADICAL FEMINAZIS!!! lol, I love that word. You really can add 'nazi' to the end of any word
We're radical?
This is coming from an organization that opposes contraception on the grounds that it "kills babies" and supports the "rights" of pharmacists who refuse to do their jobs.
In case there was any confusion, they accessed feministing on 16 Jun 2008 AD, not BC.
It's important to be both accurate and detailed in your citations. Thanks, guys.

has anyone seen that cute little animated video called, "The Rules of The Internet"?
One of the rules states that whomever uses Hitler or Nazis in an argument loses. :)
So yeah, I hate that comparison. People say "vegan nazis" as well. Feminists and vegans are pretty fucking polar opposite of Nazis.
You know, feministers---the best argument against this website is simply to visit the website. I mean, it's got it all! Pictures of the Holocaust, Obama photoshopped with disembodied human parts, and lots 'o pope photos intermingled with the ovum.
The most telling aspect is the representation of women. With very little exception, the only women present are "decorative" or "file shots" a la "woman smiling" type. All of the "deciders" are men---I know, not exactly discovering a new primary color here, but it's noteworthy.
Oh wait, there's a picture of a real woman on their site---Oh, she's being arrested---for what? Oh, trying to take healthcare in her own hands....bad, bad, bad!
I'm more offended to realize that they don't recognize sarcasm when they see it!
Assome! They have a bit on their site that chides the AMA for its paternalism. The link reads, I shit you not, "PATERNALISTIC AMA THINKS IT 'KNOWS BEST' FOR PHARMACISTS WHO HAVE A CONSCIENCE."
Who needs internal consistency when you've got sanctimony?
Totally assome, I say!
You've got to love the term feminazi. Why it makes any sense to compare people standing up for their own personal right not to be second-class citizens to a bunch of dudes who murdered 6 million people, I'll never know.
"Order fresh flowers from Pro-Life Flowers..."
You realize you're killing the flowers when you cut them, right?
Pamela: It's called Godwin's Law "As a Usenet discussion grows longer, the probability of a comparison involving Nazis or Hitler approaches one."Also known as reductio ad Hitlerum, it's generally regarded as a cheap attack used when logic has failed.
One of my favs from their front page:
Radical abortoholics admit Pill is abortifacient, but confusingly call baby unscientific 'fertilized egg'...
I love that the term fertilized egg is “confusingly unscientific” (calling a fetus a baby is sooo scientific-y) and I don’t know a single person who understands how a woman becomes pregnant and how the pill works that claims that it’s an abortifacient. It's not.
Go radical, abortoholic, feminazis!!
P.S. What the hell is an “abortoholic” anyway? And, can we just make up our own words/terms for things, too, while simultaneously rejecting the actual terms?
Why yes, yes we can, ShelbyWoo. For instance, I'm going to call of denying people their meds because you're an authoritarian, paternialistic asshat "pharmascism."
With words like "abortaholic" all over their website and calling Barack Obama "Barrie Hussein," it's hard not to laugh until I pee my pants (which makes me wonder if pro-life pharmacies carry Depends). And they use the word "sez" like they're the freakin' Daily News. They're either really stupid, or really great satirists.
Or maybe this site isn't for and by pharmacists at all. Something tells me this site was created by a disgruntled right-wing weirdo, possibly a gun nut who feels emasculated, pretending to be a pharmacist and pretending to represent a group of pharmacists. That might be because the guy's e-mail address is "elitecarbine" at Yahoo. Pro-life indeed!
So regarding the ridiculous Pro-Life Flowers thing, is it possible that "Pharmacists for Life" is violating its affiliate program agreement, which, in part, states:
"Unsuitable sites include, but shall not be limited to, those that:1. Promote violence; 2. Promote pornography and sexual content; 3. Promote discrimination based on race, sex, religion, nationality, disability, sexual orientation, or age; 4. Promote illegal activities; 5. Attempt to copy and/or assume the creative or business identity of GrowerFlowers.com in any manner; and/or,6. Otherwise violate intellectual property rights."
Seems like discriminating against gender and also using racist dogwhistles would be a violation, IMO.
7. Utilize parasite software
8. Spam
I think I remember learning in my Introduction to Philosophy class my freshman year of college that ad hominum arguments (like calling us all feminazis) are illogical.
"Stay classy, Pharmacists for Life" indeed. Indeed indeed...
Love how they also refer to feministing as "girls" with their thanks. While their are some young women on this website I highly doubt that was a compliment.
Feminazis? Is that the best they could come up with? It's not even original!
Please, if you must resort to name-calling at come up with something original. Blar!
My co-worker Melanie decided that if they're going to open a pro-life pharmacy, she's going to open a pro-choice bagel shop.

I'd totally support a pro-choice bagel shop. In my community, we have a church-run coffee shop that surreptitiously funnels its profits to a crisis pregnancy center. I stick with home-brewed to avoid bitterness.
I was thinking the same thing ladylinguist -- just in case someone thought feministing was around BC....because, you know, computers and blogs existed then.

That reminds me of this one, "How To Behave On An Internet Forum": http://www.videojug.com/film/how-to-behave-on-an-internet-forum
Paternalistic Pharmacists for "Life" thinks they know best for women who just want their fucking birth control pills.
And if they can get me soy cream cheese or hummus on my vegan bagels, I am at Melanie's Pro-Choice Bagel Shop. Just skip the Roe Rye; she went antichoice back in the 1980s.
OOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHH
It KILLS me that they say, "thanks GIRLS," in their statement of appreciation!!! Because of course we all know Jessica & Co. are all 5 year olds running this site in bobbed socks and petticoats. GEEZ.
Well, they've changed the description from "radical feminazi" to "radical abortoholic." Gotta stay fresh!
Also, this may be the least of their sins, but still: they put a complimentary (I know, I know) quote from you guys on their site, but didn't do the courtesy of linking to you. What a bunch of assholes.
Kate: just shows what a newcomer to the site you are. You should check out their great items from 2008 BC protesting the low rates of female literacy in Linear A, and the paucity of female governors in the Hittite Empire.
If it wouldn't be beneficial to them, I would totally order some of those 'Pro Life flowers' and have them include a note saying 'congrats on your recent abortion!'
Hm... they refuse to sell BC pills, EC and condoms.
Do you think that if we made a point to sexualize other stuff in the pharmacy, they'd stop selling those, too? Especially the ones with the higher profit margins.
I'd love to see their reaction if I headed into one of those places, grabbed a pack of Depends and chatted with the cashier about how it's for kinky gay interracial sex with three or four (haven't decided yet) complete strangers.
Maybe they'd stop selling Depends. And one by one, they'd stop selling products until they were out of business or gave up the absurdity of making these kinds judgement calls for other people.
