Hi,
I appreciated this article but I'm uncertain it's actually true that those on Medicaid still require a prescription, as Vanessa states. This link: http://www.ncsl.org/programs/health/ECleg.htm says that in New York State, women on Medicaid could access EC OTC since last year, although they were limited to 6 courses in one year. Could you be more specific, and cite your information?
Sorry--I'm not registered at AlterNet--it was easier to comment here.
Didn't mention condoms once.
I am just as livid about the bullshit wars waged against birth control pill access as the next person, but that doesn't make me feel any differently about people having kids they don't want or can't take primary financial and emotional responsibility for...men or women. (And it falls on women because they're the ones who experience being pregnant.)
I guess we can let people off the hook for not using condoms and not even anticipating the consequences of unprotected sex.
