More on the Feministing party...

Photobucket

In case you're wondering what you missed at our four-year anniversary bash, we got some cool local press from Chelsea Now. Check it out - maybe it will inspire you to come next year!

By the way, that's me above with Gwynn Cassidy, Feministing friend, president of Girls in Government and director of the REAL hot 100. Gwynn was having contractions that night but still came to the party. She gave birth to the super adorable Gideon Jude that weekend. (Congrats, lady!)

The party was great fun to cover! And I'm very, very pleased with how Jeff's photos came out.

Thanks again for making me feel so welcome (and turning me into a regular reader.)

Is it wrong that I have a huge crush on Jessica? (not in the creepy "guy on the internet" way, but in the "damn, your books rock! You are fucking AWESOME!" way)

You know, I can't think of a proper word for what MattOKC's expressed.

I came up with male counterparts, like "guy love" and "man crush."

If I (a female) had a crush on Jessica in the same sense, what the hell would I call it??

I don't know, either. LOL! I didn't mean to post it twice, of course. I just think Jessica is amazing. I've seen first-hand the positive effects of her books on young women in the trauma survivor's therapy groups I facilitate, and when i read her stuff I keep thinking, "right on!" Now, if I can just get her to write a review that massacres the upcoming movie, "the house bunny," I'll be thrilled.
