Poor doggy, nothing to lick.
Dude, Monty. Respect, man.
Poor doggy, nothing to lick.
You'd think, but they still lick them anyway, at least my male does. Maybe they get phantom ball syndrome or something.
Yay for spaying/neutering!
You're enjoying that just way, way too much, Jessica... :)
Kudos for being a responsible pet parent! I do Boxer Rescue in Florida and not enough people spay and neuter. So thanks!

Hehehehehe.
At least he seems to be taking it well. :)
(Shameless cat story alert) My cat is still immensely proud of his rear end area, even without the balls. I'm sensing a similar sentiment with Monty. Sometimes my cat will jump on my lap and stick his hiney in my face. I wonder if Monty does that as well, he sure seems proud of that area. Oh good times, good times.
Hey Jessica and all other pet owners, I don't know if you've ever heard of this, but this has reminded me of something pretty ridiculous and appropriate..a vet has developed testicular implants for pets:

Hooray for spaying and neutering! I &hearst; responsibly pet parents.
Hooray for spaying and neutering! I ♥ responsibly pet parents.

Well, fuck. Sorry about the triple post, I thought I hit stop in time to fix my mistakes.
Humans would lick themselves if they could reach.
Isn't it more of a cleanliness issue for dogs/cats than sexual stimulation?
I loooove Aussies! I want one so badly. How does Monty do living in an apartment?
I've always read that they have too much energy for small spaces and apartment living is not ideal... but you seem to be doin ok!
I read his expression as thus:
"You see this? Yeah, there used to be something there. Used to be. And now? And now I'm never getting into the car with you again, that's and now. EVER."
;)
Actually - interesting story. In feminist research class this semester, a classmate did hers on how men and women socialize their pets based on genders, and that men see their pets as people and sympathize with them, especially the males, thus choose not to cut their balls off. I have no idea where I am going with this, but it was quite interesting ...
ProFeministMale, REALLY? I've never heard that before, but that's kind of fucked up. I guess they feel bad about cutting off the balls, but no bad about the homeless puppies that may become the result of their decision. Of course, they would then end up killed. Yeah, not sad at all. I think it's really fucked up logic. Thanks for making all of us aware!!! I will be talking to all of my male friends about this.
A feminist women telling all her male friends to chop off their dog's manly bits? That'll go over well.
A feminist women telling all her male friends to chop off their dog's manly bits?
Yeah, because she's totally going to go around to all her male friends and say, "Cut the balls off your dogs!!!" And feminists only want to cut off dogs' balls. They have no desire to spay female animals (which requires very invasive, major surgery).
Actually, Macfrugal, I think Bob Barker started the whole thing when he ended all his shows with "Please spay and neuter your pets!"
Good on you, Jessica, for being a responsible pet owner.

Holy missing the point Batman.
I think what aniri meant is that she will be finding out if her male friends also feel this way and if they do, explaining the consequences of un-altered pets and overpopulation from the perspective of someone who cares about animals, not necessarily ever actually mentioning feminism. I would also assume she will lump in the spaying of female dogs since that is also a crucial part of responsible pet ownership.
Not to mention not having to deal with heat (in females), territorialism and spraying (males) and aggression (both) that comes with intact pets. PLUS the increased risk of various diseases including cancer.
And in case anyone was wondering, I believe some vets will now perform a neuter by removing some portion of the repro tract that produces sperm and leave the scrotum intact. So if anyone really did have that misguided notion that they were making them less manly, this would serve as a compromise. I think it's better to address the mentality behind it but at least the dog would be fixed.
