So my poor laptop is in the shop, and I'm freaking out because it looks like I won't have it for the rest of the week (and will be stuck using my boyfriend's computer, which hates me). But I had the most hilarious moment on the phone with a woman at the AppleCare call center of the store that's fixing my Mac. Turns out, she reads Feministing and told me that the folks over there all read our blog and Pandagon. Nice!
So, a big shout out to Daisy and all the other folks at AppleCare who read Feministing. And I swear I'm not doing this in the hopes my computer will be ready faster. Seriously.

AppleCare is awesome. It came to my rescue when I needed a new hardddrive.
The fact that they are also feminists just makes me love my computer even more.
Yeah, that's as good an advertisement for Mac as you can get. Hurrah for Daisy, and hurrah for fast turn-around times.
AppleCare is amazing. They helped me out incredibly in February!
I called and told them about how I'd been treated like crap in-store, and that my baby PowerBook was in for a repair on a repair that Apple had previously done... Long story short, I'm typing this from a new MacBook Pro. :)
Treated badly in-store: I quote the genius "A smart woman like you should know better than to be messing with all that boring system stuff!"
I would've slapped him right there if I weren't so shocked. I'm sooooo sorry I ran 'sudo periodic daily weekly monthly' to clean up whatever slows this thing down. Geez.

When I was working with four close friends at a small computer-care clinic on Maui, I turned them all on to the feminist net--got a good deal of good natured joshing, but they all read Pandagon, Feministing, and (oddly enough) Cute Overload now!
Mom recently sent her Macbook Pro in after the superdrive stopped working. Two days later, she's back in business.
lol! the Genius Room reads feministing :)
I heart AppleCare, and in fact, all of Apple's customer service. They have really taken care of me on everything from a repair nightmare with an "Apple Certified" repair place, (they even got my money back for the botched repair!) to having my iBook stolen. Never did get the iBook back, but it's nice to know they took the time to fill out all the reports and stuff with me anyway.
