Damn. It's so hard to listen to stuff like this because on the one hand you just want to write it up as stupid, ignorant shit that should be ignored by EVERYONE, but on the other hand this man is extremely successfull, so clearly everyone ISN'T ignoring him.

Honestly, my gut reaction when I started listening to the audio was to say "Oh FUCK OFF, Rush" which I think just about sums it up.

Screw him I say. Thanks to Planned Parenthood (an organization i'm sure he's a fan of LOL) I've never had to consider abortion because of the birth control they provided.
I kind of skimmed most of the article, but what was absent seemed to be some version of his notorious remark abou thow feminism is for unattractive women....ummm since when is he the authority on what is ir isn't attractive. By the way, It's really hard to be a feminist these days. Especially the part where you have to cut men out of your life and still have two or three abortions and two or three marriages. Very challenging and you need to be a very strong woman to do it.

I love Feministing, but it doesn't win friends to suggest that someone return to being an addict, or to rag on someone's previous addiction problems. Addiction is serious, and while a history of it does diminish one's credibility, feminists can't and shouldn't fall into using low blows on the misfortunes of others.

Lovely place full of luxurious resorts? It's in the Dominican Republic. I don't know where Rush was on that vacation, but I wouldn't be surprised if he came from Punta Cana. My husband and I almost booked a vacation there this spring, but we found a better deal in Jamaica. Would you assume we're going to Jamaica for the ganja?

I agree that Rush is an asshole and a hatemonger. Still, I'm beyond dismayed at the wish that he would start up using oxycotin again. There are people in the world who undoubtedly care for him, and addiction hurts them possibly more than it hurts him. My mother is a recovering alcoholic, and I would not wish a relapse on anyone. To mock someone else's disease and wish that the descend back into it is hateful and classless, and I expect more from the people who are supposed to be on my side.
