Busy in Beantown

At the end of the week most of the Feministing crew will be heading to Boston for the Women, Action and Media Conference. If you're going to be there, make sure to come and say hi! Jessica is moderating a panel on Backlash on Saturday, along with Ann presenting on Beating the Old Boys Club, Courtney on book publishing and Feministing Techster Deanna on feminist blogs plus much more!

If you happen to be in town early, come see me speak at Boston College on Thursday night. I'm speaking twice, back to back, the first a talk sponsored by the African Studies department on reproductive health care access for immigrant Latinas. The second talk will be about the intersections of reproductive justice and LGBT liberation (I've written about this before) sponsored by the GLBTQ Leadership Council.

I'm going with some other members of my school's feminist group...I'm super excited!
(Also, our group didn't have to pay for it...the Dean of Students is paying for it, just like his office paid for a conference some of us went to in December. Some people have their heads on straight...)

I saw the title of this post and thought "Hurray! Masturbation post!"

And then I read it's about Boston. Poo.

I'm declaring "busy in beantown" the new euphemism of the day, regardless.

fantastic! i'm a BC alum, and was just reading in the school paper that there's a big push for an organized women's presence within the student gov't there. this is a huge thing, because as a catholic school, the women's "resource center" doesn't serve as much of a resource for female students.

enjoy your time at BC, and give them another little push in the right direction!
