Pledge a Protester!

Anti-choicers are converging on Planned Parenthood's St. Paul Highland Park clinic tomorrow for a day-long protest. Planned Parenthood is looking for pro-choicers (they hope to have 500) to stand in solidarity with the clinic. So if you live nearby, show up! (For security purposes, you must register with Planned Parenthood first and let them know you're coming. Contact Sally.)

If you're not local, you can still click here to pledge a certain dollar amount per anti-choice protester who shows up at the clinic. (Can I just say how much I love the Pledge-a-Protester action?)

Here's more info:

Well I could only really afford the 10 dollars for one protester, but i hope it helps. How can we find out how much they raised altogether?

As someone who works at an abortion clinic and sees this kind of BS every day, I would love nothing more than to support this initiative. But you need to have an American address to pledge, and I am a lowly Canuck. :(

I think they'll announce how much $ was raised next monday or Tuesday. So I'd check out http://www.ppmns.org early next week.

Thank so much!!!

This is a great program, I'll definitely donate what I can/

Frankly, you'd think that these people would have something better to do on Good Friday... like, you know, go to Church.

Well, I guess not.

While I don't have money to send, I am escorting at my local Planned Parenthood that day.

My two sisters and I will be there at the solidarity event!

It's a great idea - the more anti-women protesters that show up - the more money that gets donated to PP. Perfect!

Me, I favor the idea of putting the anti-choice folks in a jar and having people pay to guess how many there are.

Those fools at Highland Park also harass men who go to PP on the weekly "Vasectomy Day" clinic, in case you thought they only bothered women. Every sperm really is sacred, I guess.

And the anti-choicers just purchased a building down the block for a "Life Care Center" that is nothing more than a base of operations for the protesters (it does get cold here and we wouldn't want frostbite) and to confuse would-be patients looking for PP.
