I was linked to this wonderful article about King the human, anti-Stalinist, poor people's rights-advocating anti-war radical by Alas, a Blog. It's a great primer in who King actually was, what he actually supported, how our popular conception of him has changed over time, and why not knowing who we're really celebrating today is a very bad thing. (Because he was twice as awesome as we're led to believe.)
