Happy Monday, folks! Think of this picture as a fun graffiti reminder to walk with feminism in your life. (Yes, I'm very philosophical, I know.)

I spent the weekend in Philly at a friend's wedding (congrats Robbie and Ilana!) where I caught up with high school buds, drank a tad too much wine, and a had a huge piece of ceiling from the hotel bar fall on my head (seriously). What was your weekend like?

I had a huge fight with my fiance over the wedding on Saturday, but by Sunday we were spending far too much money at REI on Christmas presents, so it all worked out in the end. (I think REI is going to become like Staples for me--I'll have one of everything, please.) :)

I finished up shopping for my offspring, trying to avoid over the top commercialism. Ugh. I also picked up Full Frontal Feminism for my daughter :) I think she's going to love it - it amazes me how progressive and feminist she already is. She's the only one of her friends who's pro choice, and she flat out told me she never wants kids, and if she ever got pregnant despite birth control she'd get an abortion, because she knows what she wants. She wants to adopt older kids out of the foster care system well after she has her career establish. A lot of people in her life tell her 'oh, you say that now, but you'll change your mind'. I just tell her 'I think it's awesome that you know what you want." It is so upsetting the lengths to which most people (even people who identify as feminist) will go to to undermine a young woman's self-determination. Blech.

Wow! Your friends are getting married, too? Dang it. It seems like everyone in their twenties is getting married - I almost feel pressure to do the same!

MY weekend consisted of teaching kids to read, finding out a woman I am really into is actually pro-life :(, and organizing for a Planned Parenthood rally in front of my school tomorrow evening! Yay for feminists making people honk for choice!

I didn't have a good weekend at all. :(

But I do like the picture. :) I wish that pic came from Abbey Road in London, instead of Philadelphia.

It actually is from Madrid!

I spent the weekend at my boyfriend's in Baltimore. Nothing too eventful.
But I am going to a wedding in Philly this weekend. Looking forward to getting my dance on. :)

Finished my Christmas shopping for the hubby and kids, built a shelf to go over the fireplace, completed some minor revisions on my thesis, and found $20 in an old jacket.

Not a bad weekend at all, just not terribly exciting.

I spent most of the weekend catching up with my sleep. It was lovely on Sunday morning to lie in bed with the winter sun coming in through the window, though.

I got snowed in! Ahh, my first Minnesota winter.

My partner and I bundled up and walked down the hill (there was no digging his car out!) to grab some videos (The Goonies and Casablanca) and some veggies to put into a homemade chicken noodle soup.

We drank hot chocolate, sang Christmas carols to each other (badly!), and played with our kitten all weekend. It was the best one I've had in a long time!

I am in Minnesota too and it did snow a lot, but it wasn't that bad because the snow is beautiful and it made my family really happy. I took the train home from college from Wisconsin to Minneapolis(because my car is about to die and I am to poor to fix it) and it was nice a relaxing.
Then I went out to eat with my girlfriends at a really cool lounge/bar/restaurant, and I was the DD because I was sick (and cough meds and alcohol don't mix), but I had a great time becuase all of my friends were really happy, and I gave one of my girlfriends "full Frontal Feminsim" and she has started reading it and she loves it!
All in all great weekend!

Wow, so much Minnesota love here!
I live in Minneapolis and had some friends over for a Girls Night that included wine, THC, and braving the elements to go get pizza.
Also, homework.

I just want to join in on the string of Minnesota comments. I drank a healthy amount of Sangria on Saturday night and started ranting about Huckabee, when someone who was over at our apartment made the statement that he could beat Clinton "easily" in a general election. I'm afraid I was incoherent and I'm even a big Clinton fan, but Huckabee makes me see red and I couldn't help myself.

Oops- NOT even a big Clinton fan.

OMG, acranom, do you think that's true? Personally I think the Rethugs will win if we elect Clinton as our nominee. But I had never actually thought to myself, "Clinton v. Huckabee." And at this point he's soaring ahead of Romney in the polls! Ahhhh! He would be so. bad. for. this. country. it's not even funny.

Did you know he recently defended his pro-capital-punishment stance by saying that had Jesus been against capital punishment he'd have said something while dying on the cross. [And since it's not in the transcript (the bible)Huckabee's conscience is clear!]

I had a long weekend work wise...I worked from 3pam saturday to 8:30 am sunday at the DV/Recovery Shelter where I'm employed. We had a little ice storm in NW IN and the midnight person couldn't come in. On top of that the alarms went off at like 4:30 in the morning officially scaring the crap out of me (it turned out to be nothing) I also had a really draining call involving a women hiding in a hotel room because she finally escaped from her husband who denied her food and water, threw urine at her, refused to let her get glasses, cut up her drivers license and kicked both of her kids out of the house when they were 14 and she hasn't heard from them since.....

Sunday...I slept i was exhausted physically and emotionally

yay for minnesota! I too was in the snowy goodness of minnesota. Also got a little to drunk and lost my coat (which sucks because it is going to be bought for christmas instead of a whole lot of really cool books, which by the way I'm super excited about the new emma goldman graphic novel that I'm going to pick up from Amazon bookstore in the next few days). But overall my weekend was great, snow, good friends, and great food.

I guess my last post did get post... dumb. Anyways I am also from minnesota, so yay to us and to snow!. Well I got a little drunk and lost my coat and now a new one will replace all the fantastic books I did have on my christmas and birthday list (although I treated myself to the new emma goldman graphic novel from Amazon bookstore). But overall a good weekend, good snow, friends, family and food!

Wow, who wants to have a Minnesota party? I had no idea there were so many of us here! Good times. My weekend was good. I went to Surdyk's and got some of the last of that goat cheese that Dara wrote about in City Pages recently. She was so right about it. Rest of you Twin Cities people should really get to the St Paul farmer's market asap and pick some up.
