I love it! Now if only I could get some of those pills the next time someone uses the word "Oriental" to describe a person...

A lot of the jokes sound like the ones from blackpeopleloveus.com, which are themselves hilarious.

P.S. I thought her name was Dana!

P.P.S. I too will break my foot off in the next person's ass who calls me Occidental.

*snerk* It's good I wasn't drinking anything. It would've gone out my nose.

Ugh, ElleMariachi. The guys where I work use Oriental all the time, and it makes me cringe. I tried to point out that I've never met an Asian person who liked the word, but no effect. They're the kind of people who act racist and sexist, but would insist that they're not.

I adore her.

Heh--prairielily, next time just go the route my aunt takes and say, "There are no Oriental people, JUST RUGS!"

I've never liked the term "african american." It makes a person sound like an immigrant. If society doesn't want to use the term "black" then okay, but think of something better to use as the politically correct term.

I love Queen Latifah!

I believe that Chris Rock did a sketch similar to this when he had his own show.. I believe the product was called something like "Niggatrol".

Haha

Despite being Asian,, ( I am from india) they never label me as "Asian" Its always "and the Asian guys in class said..." to which i have to say, "I am Asian too"....

I'm teaching in China right now,and one of my students seriously asked me today "Teacher, why are you black?" The sad part is that a couple weeks ago, a 21-year old asked me a similar question. She wanted to know why my palms and the bottoms of my feet were white. I may have grown up in Asia, but I still think there's no fucking excuse for that level of ignorance.

The term African American has it's own problems. There are a lot of black people in my area that are from the Dominican Republic, which is notably not a part of Africa. As a description, I know their skin color, not where they, or their ancestors, come from.

I see what you mean, but personally I use Asian to mean south-east Asian when I can't tell what ethnicity they are. I prefer to be specific and say Japanese/Chinese if I can tell or know.

I guess it can be an issue when you know a lot of Indian people so presume that people who look Indian (to you) are... As opposed to Pakistani (oh, could you make a worse mistake?? Though I guess Chinese/Japanese is a pretty damn bad one too...)

Oh, and the video was hilarious

This is to say nothing of white people born and raised in Africa.

I'm reminded of a joke I saw on a Canadian talk show about Charlize Theron being named, I think, Esquire's Hottest Woman of the Year or something. "Interesting fact: she's the first African-American to be given the title. Who says diversity is dead?" And then they show a picture of her in all her blonde-haired, blue-eyed, and admittedly very beautiful glory.

I like Queen Latifah when she isn't making shitty movies with wastes of space like Jimmy Fallon.
