Am I the only one who found that unsettling?

Yeah, you know, I think my brain is fine as is and if I were being completely honest I'd say, bionic penis too (for a significant other). Maybe I'm not a typical woman. Still, this video is funny but seems to me it just reinforces negative stereotypes- men only think about sex, women are morally superior and thus above thinking about sex.

Wow, that made my morning. Yes, I will admit I am laughing at the menz (much to my husband's chagrin). Though the two men whose first thought was to do violence with their upgraded penis was telling and rather scary to me.

I thought it was pretty unsettling as well. And as far as reinforcing stereotypes Lilaeden, I think every other man in the park making the question about his penis reinforced that stereotype.

LMAO....I am SO not surprised, and I DO find it unsettling. But I wonder, if it was edited in any way?? Surely there were OTHER answers.....

Ok Shanpo, but do you really think every man interviewed for this little segment answered this way? Obviously, it's edited and I'm sure the womens' answers were to. I'd be interested to see how everyone asked answered.

I guess I should say that maybe I wouldn't have answered any differently than the men in the video if Mo Rocca had interviewed me.

But, why has it gotten to the point that I could predict what the guys in the video were going to say before watching it? Why does it have to be zero or 180?

Why is it a situation in which (it seems like, maybe I'm wrong) as a guy you're defined as either a metrosexual, in touch with his "feminine side," or you're a macho, prehistoric, knuckle dragging, man's man with, as the video pointed out, a bionic johnson. Here I am just trying to be a decent, ethical, moral human being before anything else. Silly me, I guess.

Hilarious.

Any man with wit would have said "I would like bionic arms.... 'cos I already got a bionic wang!"

Seriously it would vibrate and everything....

That was set up or strategically edited. Honestly. Haven't these people watched The Bionic Woman or The Six Million Dollar* Man? The body parts in question are arms, legs, eyes and ears. A bionic brain? You need a bionic brain if that's the best answer you could come up with. As for the bionic penis... Unless its attached to a better-looking guy, I wouldn't get too hopeful.

*Haha! Remember when $6million seemed like a lot of money? What a bargain in today's market. Or, maybe I'm dating myself?

I'm with lilaeden on the reinforcing negative stereotypes (of men)...and, though I wouldn't be completely surprised if the number of men who answered 'penis' was high compared to the number of men who said 'brain', without any info on that, it becomes a sort of simple propaganda piece.

I might want my brain cybernetically enhanced, but not replaced, thank you.

And hey, wouldn't this mean that the women would think in slow motion? And the men would fuck in slow motion? Not to mention peeing in slow motion.

LOL! True

I find it amusing the guys think of a bionic penis in terms of size and POWER - I tend to think of functions. Y'know, the vibrating and suchlike :D

i think the one body part you want to have upgraded is in fact too small.

Bionic means efficency thus a bionic brain could mean anything. For one it could be very small to save energy and the need of food variety. Thereby speeding up the growth of the female body and by that minimizing the time for beeing able for impregnation.

Fenriswolf got a good point with an extra function for the "bionic" penis. But in todays culture it would not count for anything since we are all coverd an no girl could see s.o. bionic feature. Besides it could not be called bionic if it just boosts the pleasure.

Anyway both parties chose fertility as number one priority. I call it even.
scnr

Lilaeden, Obviously the video is edited-I'm not a complete fool. And obviously it's trying to make a point, that much is clear as well. My point is, just the fact that they could find four or five guys to answer the question that way is telling enough, and ridiculous enough, in my view.

I like the idea of having the cool bwna-na-na-na-na-na-na sound effect every time I have a brilliant thought...

Off topic, but (and this may only mean something to the other mamas out there) didja know Mo Rocca used to write for the kids' shows "Pepper Ann" (as close to a feminist cartoon as one could come by) and "Wishbone" (now in reruns)? These days his grownup material may annoy me some of the time, but the man's got a gift. My girls loved those shows.

Victoria, that's pretty cool. I knew who Mo Rocca was, but i had no idea he wrote for those shows. Used to watch them all the time when I was younger.

"Pepper Ann, Pepper Ann, much too cool for seventh grade..."

Loved that show!

I sprang the question, "If you could have one bionic body part, what would it be?" on my husband when he got home today (without showing him the video or any background explanation).

His answer: "Brain." :-D

Maybe the women were too embarassed to say they wanted a bionic clit.

"Maybe the women were too embarassed to say they wanted a bionic clit."

Touche, you'd think having orgasms on command would rank pretty highly for some women, but I don't think you can even say clitoris on that show. Men are not the only sex-obsessed constituent of this species.

I just woke up my husband for the sole purpose of asking him which body part he would want to be bionic. His answer? Legs. My answer, before I knew the joke of the piece, was eyes. So either we're complete freaks or, yes, this piece was edited pretty intensely. Still funny though.

Seems making something bionic would compensate for what people consider deficient about themselves.
