I can't even comprehend the picture at the link with the breast shoe. I mean...what the hell is going on there?!
Wait, why is a pair of legs IN A SHOE considered "sexy"? It's just...weird.
That shoe doesn't even fit.
The most offending thing is that THE PICTURE DOESN'T EVEN MAKE SENSE!!!
I don't even understand what that's supposed to be. A butt in a shoe? How is that foot fetishism? There aren't any feet in that picture!
There's another picture on that site of a woman's torso in the shoe, and her ribs are clearly seen. I'm quite teeny myself and my ribs don't stick out. How thin is that woman supposed to be?
I don't get those whole concept.
I thought it was a fetish site or something, but no, it's just an advertisement?
I mean...what?!
i don't get it. and i like women in heels, and nice butts. but i don't get this at all.
My first thought immediately upon glancing at the picture was "what is WRONG with that woman's FOOT???"
LMAO.
I...okay I don't get this at all. It's kind of starting to make me panic over the idea that the weird could be contagious. Can anyone explain this to me? What is going ON?
"Can anyone explain this to me? What is going ON?"
I'm not quite sure, but I think this is some sort of artist's rendering of what a sex offender on LSD sees.
That looks like a monster out of Silent Hill or Resident Evil.
Its disturbing as well the magazine that is running this image. This is not a magazine that a vast majority of men are going to be picking up. This magazine is dehumanizing their own readers. Where are the boycotts?
I'm so confused. I thought the ass was actually PART OF the shoe and wondered how the hell you were supposed to put it on.
Although I don't find it offensive, just weird and confusing.
It depends on how your ribs are shaped, not how skinny you are. My ribs stick out and I still have a flabby belly. Not that I can explain anything else in those pictures, but you can have visible ribs without being anorexically skinny.
uuummm...I don't get it...
Yeah, I especially like how NONE OF THEM HAVE ANY HEADS! How wonderful that this company is reinforcing that women are just objects and we're defined by our physical attributes. BARF
I have read that one reason some men like strappy high heels is that they put the heel in a position resembling an arched pair of buttocks. If the ad had done some Photoshop work to make a picture like that, it would, while still being a bit unsettling, at least be visually clever and aesthetically interesting. The ads they've got look like a teenage boy attacked some magazines with scissors and glue-stick.
Dismembered female body parts, shrunk down to the size of a shoe...in order to sell shoes...to women. I really would love to meet the people that created this layout and the magazine editor that agreed that this spread was print worthy. I don't even remember what any of the shoes look like because I was too horrified by the bloodless massacre of t&a.
Apparently, this remarkably disturbing image comes from a WOMEN'S FASHION MAGAZINE!!
Which is truly odd - since it looks like fetish porn for male serial killers!
I've always thought that women's fashion designers had a misogynist streak a mile wide - now I know for sure!
"I have read that one reason some men like strappy high heels is that they put the heel in a position resembling an arched pair of buttocks"
ShifterCat, I don't know where you read that, but I seriously doubt that most men who are attracted to women in heels feel that way because those shoes make a woman's heel look like her butt!
Guys I know who are into women in heels like those shoes because of how they make women's feet look - in particular their toes.
And a lot of guys don't even like high heels on women (I don't - I think women look a lot better in sneakers or boots myself)
I still don't get it....why, why, why?
There has got to be something more sexy than female body parts enchained in shoes....
The shoe with women's torsos looks painful. Don't those breasts look painful? Like they're being squeezed from the strap of the shoe. Weird.
I didn't even know what to think of this. It disturbed me. Mostly because I do think feet are sexy and feet belong in shoes, not legs, not boobs, not butts. My fiance' chalked the ad up to "capitalism being capitalism", "sex is always used to sell", and "over the line vulgar". So if this ad doesn't sell to women and doesn't sell to men (or at least the respectful kind) then whom is purchasing the shoes?
I'm disturbed not only by the images, but also that once again feministing is picking on fetishists – particularly foot fetishists (even though there are no feet). The "next level of nasty"? What's with this puritanical streak around here?

"I'm disturbed not only by the images, but also that once again feministing is picking on fetishists"
As I always say, to each their own when it comes to paraphilias. But I don't think its fair to say feministing is picking on people with a foot fetish. Feet aren't what is being portrayed here. In those images we see cut-up female body parts and shoes. Now, I'm not one to judge other people, but there's a big difference between for example having a paraphilia for women with green eyes and having a paraphilia for something that Ed Gein would masturbate to.
“Apparently, this remarkably disturbing image comes from a WOMEN'S FASHION MAGAZINE!!
If you're surprised that a women's fashion magazine could be very sexist, then you've not been paying attention.
Pity that what would make a great feminist magazine name is taken by a schlocky fashion mag.
What. The. Fuck.
Seriously? I have nothing against people who have an affinity for feet. But this isn't something designed for someone who has a foot fetish.
I don't know... the idea of purchasing a shoe because of this ad kind of confuses me. If they want women to purchase these shoes... then why make them look like torture devices?
To be perfectly honest, at first glance I thought it was some new sex toy. But upon my second look... I am now just confused.
It is creepy more than anything.
“But I don't think its fair to say feministing is picking on people with a foot fetish. Feet aren't what is being portrayed here.
That's exactly why I'm saying feministing is picking on foot fetishists. The only connection to foot fetishism is the title of an ad that makes no sense in the first place.
I say again because of the recent "pussyfoot" post. And I just have to point out once more for good measure that "next level of nasty" is blatantly labeling foot fetishism as nasty.
Disturbing image bad. Unfairly blaming fetishists for sexism in disturbing image worse.
this is stupid. it doesn't make any sense - it's not even clever.
I agree. This is just ridiculous. There's no point in even feeling offended by it, that's how meaningless this is.
Anyama:
I couldn't help but notice that every picture is completely devoid of the head and face of the woman, i.e. one of the most important features which makes one recognisably human in that it allows others to identify. What we are given instead are faceless 'bits of woman' that cannot be related to as anything other than sexual objects and are nastily reminiscent of cleaned-up dismembered body part from a crime scene - presented for titillation. Furthermore, this isn't in a fetish magazine but, instead, in a mainstream fashion magazine. Thus, I conclude, there's a lot more to this that mere 'let's pick on foot fetishits'. However, the previous posts referring to foot fetishism were more to do, again, with the sexualisation of a single part of a woman's body, to the extent that the rest of the human is excluded (providing only dismembered feet) and made to seem unimportant - reducing woman's body parts to sex objects and excluding the human being behind them. THAT'S what was being remarked on, not the fact that some people find feet to be particularly erotic.
I find the ad itself more offensive to foot fetishists than this post about it is. They put the headline "Foot Fetish" on it, but they don't actually show feet in the shoes! No, they had to put tits and asses in the shoes, so all the "normal" people can understand why some "freaks" think feet/shoes are sexy! How freaking insulting is that?!
And to make things worse, those shoes look really cheap and tacky. I've seen a fair number of seriously hot shoes in my life, but not a one of them was covered in sequins, for fuck's sake. I find it hard to believe any self-respecting foot fetishist would be all that excited to see someone's feet in a pair of those things. But maybe that's just a reflection of my own personal taste?
Then again, this isn't all that different from the Breasts Not Bombs ad on the lefthand side of this page.
The pictures at the link are just weird and somewhat disturbing. Without reading the article, I'll take a stab at what the photographer was trying to get across: fuck me shoes. (Don't jump all over me...I don't think it's good at making that point nor is it creative and I've already agreed that it's disturbing).
Why is the butt in the shoe?
Why is this so weird?
It looks like the torso is going to take a crap on the shoe.
"It depends on how your ribs are shaped, not how skinny you are. My ribs stick out and I still have a flabby belly. Not that I can explain anything else in those pictures, but you can have visible ribs without being anorexically skinny."
Thanks for the explanation, marle.
Woah.
That's a Baskin Robbins full of wrong.
Nice. I have a foot fetish
Great. I love feet
