Awards, weddings, and a day off

choiceusaawards.jpg
At the Choice USA Awards: Jen, Jessica, Marvelyn, Courtney and Ann.

Hey all...so a lot of the Feministing ladies have been traveling like crazy over the past week. The Choice USA Awards in DC were super fun--it was amazing to meet all of these incredible women doing such important work for reproductive justice.

Then we were off to Colonial Williamsburg for the wedding of Feministing friend and real hot 100 director Gwynn Cassidy.

And in two days, we're off to Chicago for the Causes in Common meeting and the SisterSong conference.

So given all of the past and future craziness, we're going to be taking today off to sleep, chill out, and maybe have a BBQ if the nasty NYC weather allows. See you tomorrow!

Glad you all are having some time off! I'm so happy you got the Choice USA award, they are such an amazing organization. I went to the Choice USA Gloria Steinem Leadership Institute last summer, it was so great. The woman Shelley who also won an award was there with me!

i know it, y'know, totally isn't about this, but: y'all look so purty!

I'm so envious you're all going to SisterSong's conference in Chicago! I heard about it too late & couldn't afford to go anyway, but it sounds AWESOME. Be sure to share some of your learning with us :).

Marvelyn, that dress is awesome :-)

That cream dress with the pink flowers on (is it Courtner?) is absolutely beautiful! Really gorgeous, that. I want one!

That sound wicked busy but fun.
Ugh, it is so humid & gross in NJ, I imagine it's worse in NYC b/c it tends to be hotter there.

My goodness, Ann, you're very tall! I'm jealous ;) Well, you all look great, hope you have more fun in the upcoming mayhem! And congratulations on that award, you certainly deserved it.

I can't wait to hear about the Sister Song conference! I wanted to go so badly!

Before anyone else says a word about Ann's height:

Huh. I followed the link on height, which was a useful reminder of how atypical my life experience apparently is - at 5'11" I can't remember the last time I got any kind of significant height comments. Maybe a little in junior high, but not in a way that left marks on my psyche.

Interesting.
