Dane Cook keeps it classy
Check out Dane Cook's new movie poster after the jump. I think you'll agree that it's...special.

I think it's supposed to look like an American Apparel ad, but dirtier. The worst part? Much like Cook, it's not even fucking funny.
Thanks to Akela for the tip.

The funny thing is, I wouldnt have known who the hell this poser was if I hadnt seen one of his videos the other day. A video from his “stand up comedy where he attempts to take the piss out of atheists.
I agree though, this guy is not funny at all, and that poster only illustrates this point even further. What a total nob!
There's something funny about Dane? Well, we've ruled out his creative output or acting roles, so tell us more, poster!
Eff this guy and his distinctly simian mug.
Hmmm... A shirtless man with bed hair who has a semi-smile on his face, and someone's hair at the bottom of the poster. They're probably trying to imply something, but I'm sure we can imagine something more... appropriate for the situation.
Oddly enough, that hair looks like Owen Wilson's.
That's so weird. The other two posters (Jessica Alba and some guy I'm forgetting) have them holding some food. She has an ice cream gone, the other guy has a grapefruit. So where does this fit in the series?
I didn't even get what was upsetting, because I thought the yellow color was a lumped-up towel in his hand or something (like he'd just showered).
Messy Jessi,
I can only infer for Alba's poster but I think it goes with the licking/sucking of a semi-phallic food. As for the grapefruit if you look closely there's a hole in it, as if it's been "penetrated". Get it? I didn't either, someone else had to point it out to me.
....... okay, I give up. I don't get it.
(Which isn't surprising, considering it's Dane Cook. Are people still calling him a "comedian"?)
Oh, DUDE, I totally just figure out that's supposed to be someone's HEAD.
I totally thought it was a towel.
Still not funny. Still don't get it.
I actually think some of Dane Cook's stand-up stuff is pretty hilarious (and I don't think it's 'cause we share the same name). I don't like it so much when he gets off into sexual humor . . . but his thing about the parking garage, and the one about Wal-Mart . . . I thought they were great.
I haven't seen any of the movies he's been in, or any recent stuff . . . so maybe he's gotten worse? (shrug)
I don't really get the point of this picture either. Basically, it seems to be saying oral sex=edgy/funny (um . . . so over that?) Is it supposed to be advertising something? What?
the poster is wrong. there's nothing funny about dane cook.
oh, and i checked out the preview. this movie looks like a craptastic gagfest of cliches and misogyny, with a bit of fat hatred thrown in on the side.
Okay, I see now it's a new movie. But the poster is still pointless as an advert.
geh. i am sooooo sick of dude comedy. seriously. how many times can they make the same stupid film with the same stupid dick and fart jokes and the same hot women as objects to shlubby guys storylines? thank god/dess for indies and classics, otherwise id never get to watch a movie again.
So there's some dumb new movie that probably has a lot of dumb sexual humor in it and the posters for it are dumb posters with stupid sexual messages and Dane Cook is getting a blowjob.
So what?
I thought that it was a towel, too, LF. I didn't get it til I started reading the comments.
UltraMagnus,
Yeah, I got the skanky sexual innuendo of the other two, but it wasn't just outright, "Here is a picture of a guy with a lady going down on him." What, Dane Cook is too good for sexually suggestive food?
Also notice how in the posters of the guys there's an adjective for each -- something "funny" about Dane, something "wild" about the other guy. But I guess Jessica doesn't merit an adjective -- she just gets "something."
Because, you know, they appreciate her for her great personality. Jackasses.
slightly off topic, but is anyone else totally turned off by the new movie "knocked up"? everytime i see a preview i wanna scream
honwood, yeah... that's got to be like the WORST romantic comedy setup EVER.
"Hmm, funny-looking one-night-stand guy knocked me up. SHIT. Oh well, I don't like the options of 1) abortion, 2) adoption, or 3) raising the child by myself or with someone I actually KNOW enough to enter into a committed relationship with, so I guess I'll just spend the rest of my life with a man who for all I know just gave me AIDS."
Yeah, genius plot there.
the premise to knocked up makes me uncomfortable it's true- but i'd like to give judd apatow the benefit of the doubt- my love for freaks and geeks is vast. all the same, i'll be damn sad when/if it's all awful.
meanwhile, i've never liked dane cook. and isn't he a known thief when it comes to stand up material?
and isn't he a known thief when it comes to stand up material?
Pretty much, that's the word on the street. Him, Carlos Mencia, & Robin Williams.
yes - he is known for stealing from Louis C.K. in particular: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dane_Cook
*sigh* I really regret all the laughing and bandwagon-jumping I've done with Dane Cook. I thought he was funny when he did that whole thing on Comedy Central about being a snake, but now he's just... dumb.
Actually, I still think the thing about the people being too quiet or loud at the drive-through is hilarious. Sorry. "Mhmmumblehmhmumblemhmhmhmumblemhm....with lettuce, cheese.......mumblemumble and the PIIII-CKLES!...." "ARE YOU READY TO ROCK, BK BROILER?!"
Heh.... Yeah, that still cracks me up. I'm so damn silly...
I thought that hair was a towel, too. I blame shitty gamma correction on my laptop screen, because I'm pretty sure nobody really has hair that colour/texture...
hrm... not particularly funny. He's already famous and probably experiences women throwing themselves at him, not exactly a normal experience for your average guy. So even aside from any sort of feminist angle, if it's an attempt to come across as a dumb lucky guy, it doesn't work - comes across more as bragging.
First of all, I'd like to say that I think Dane Cook is HILARIOUS. I really do.
But like a few other people, I didn't even notice the womyn's hair until it was pointed out to me.
The truly odd part about this movie ad is that if you see the other ones in the series (one is of Jessica Alba) this one seems really out of place.
I just heard some of Dane Cook's "Comedy" last weekend. My fiance and I had just arrived at a friends house and about five people were watching it. His routine consisted of degrading oral sex jokes including talking about punching a girl in her "taint" so that she would never ask him to perform oral sex again. And incorporating every stereotype of homosexual men everywhere. My fiance, who's brother and best friend are gay, just kept shooting me looks me and we both just sat there silent while everyone else was laughing like crazy....I didn't get it then and I dont get it now
I've always thought Dane Cook is the most boring thing since boiled bread. This doesn't do a thing to change that.
