Blogging Feminism!

Hey y'all. Gwen and I have been working on an issue of Barnard's The Scholar and Feminist Online for what seems like forever, but it's finally here!

We're really excited to have brought together bloggers and academics to talk about the relationship between feminism and blogging--not only do we have fancy scholarly articles on the subject, we've also put together a blog for the issue. So please check it out and participate. We'll be posting some really great stuff over the next few days.

(And keep an eye out for our video bloopers from the above intro. Too funny.)

Holy crap, it's like you've read my mind! I'm totally doing my senior thesis on women and blogging! Thank you, Feministing! THANK YOU! You're like academic guardian angels, swooping down to save me from the citational void!

yay! what a great partnership of awesome feminist bloggers and an awesome feminist college (my alma mater). i am looking forward to reading all the articles and blog posts.

I just finished a research paper on politics and blogging and feminist blogging in particular. I talked about the whole John Edwards, Amanda Marcotte, Bill Donohue fiasco, as well as online credibility and the implications of the attempted silencing of feminist bloggers through intimidation and sexualized threats. I had to do some serious digging to find anything related and basically had to draw my own conclusions based on a bunch of indirectly related sources....in other words, this is an awesome idea and I really wish I had had access to it two weeks ago.

While we're on the subject of theses and research papers, I'm thinking of doing my dissertation on something to do with feminism or gender/sexuality. It's for my film course, so I'm thinking something to do with representations of women/lesbians/bisexuals/ something like that. Has anyone done a similar dissertation and can give me ideas?
